.1. tips are not mandatory but highly encouraged for both bar staff, restaurant staff, maids, ect. We spent about $350 last year on tips..$20-40 per day bar staff, $5 breakfast, $5 lunch, $10-20 dinner, $5 day to maid 2. No one will touch you unless you want them to..with that said...I would watch the games before deciding if you want to participate in any of them..If the fun and games are not your style, you can always go to the quiet pool to relax. .on the Boobs Cruise, you are on a moving boat, someone may grab onto you to keep from falling over lol 3.There is an excursion desk outside by the sexy pool, the beach isn't horrible but it is small..can't speak to any other beaches in the area 4.Only way to guarantee a quiet room is to book a jacuzzi suite...they are around the quiet pool. If you don't want to do that, tell them at check in you do not want to be near Paty'Os. If you don't like the room they give you, you can always ask to be moved 5. You are in the right place to meet people before your trip, post in the roll call for the month you are going and engage in conversations. 6. The weather in November is nice, not hot...warm days & cool evenings
The pool games are mostly held at the Sexy Pool. They are usually things like trivia, Name That Tune, etc where the entertainment person (MC? host?) will ask questions and anyone in the pool can answer. You can be right in the pool, right in front of the host and not have to participate. We've done this many times. Other pool games are more "Newlywed Game" style, where 3 couples volunteer to go up. The guys will be escorted away briefly while the gals give what they think their spouse/bf will answer. And then vice versa. The questions are usually sexual but it's fun and nothing any adult hasn't heard before. There's also the "Mr. Temptation" contest where male guests will volunteer to "compete" in a few athletic activities. Some of it is risqué, for example, the host might suggest to one contestant "If you swim to the other side of the pool with your shorts off, I will give you 10 extra points" - it's all in good fun. Again, you can be right in the pool and watch and laugh and not have to participate at all. My favorite pool game was the "Body Shot Competition" Couples, who volunteered, go up + figure out creative ways to drink a shit of tequila of each other's body. Very amusing, I laughed my head off my last trip. No one in the pool, or anywhere else, has ever tried to grab me, hug me or kiss me etc without my permission. I did hug a few people, but I initiated them and I was comfortable with that. Temptation is not the kind of place for unwanted acts of affection. I've never seen it personally and I've never seen it mentioned on this board.
5) At the risk of this being the dumbest question ever on the forum, what is the best way to meet people? In a utopian world we would have another couple that would make the trip with us, but that's not happening as our friends at home area all vanilla and some might disown us if we told them where we are going on vacation. If we are going to be there a week, in that type of environment, we do think it would be fun to make some friends to hang out with, but are not the type to just walk up to others and start a conversation. Our first trip to TTR, the best advice we got was to wear a orange bracelet, as that is the 'color' the CCC forum. It shows that you are a member on here, and it turned out to be a great ice breaker. "Are you on CancunCare? What's your screen name?" It's how we met many people that we now call our friends. Of course it helps that most all of the people who go to TTR are very friendly to begin with. You guys will have a great time!! Cheers! SF
1. Yes, tip. It doesn't have to be tons of money, but these people work hard. Tip housekeeping early in your stay, and you'll get better towel art. 2. Swingers are the LEAST likely to violate your space without asking permission. If they approach you, take it as a compliment, say "no thanks," and they will be completely respectful. I can guarantee that no one is going to be able to accomplish a body shot off you without your permission! Given the amount of liquor flowing, though, some people can get out of line. I've never seen anyone's safety compromised, but I have seen people get pretty miffed when someone has stepped over their line (more often at PatyO's at night then during the day in the pool.) The great thing is that people at TTR tend to look out for each other, and they often step in when they see someone getting uncomfortable. 3. For excursions, I'd recommend taking the ferry to Isla Mujeres and hanging on the beach there if you want to relax. Xcaret is a cool park, but it's a long way away and very expensive if your main objective is beach. However, if you want to do a full-day excursion, consider Xel Ha if you like snorkeling or even Akumal where you can snorkel with sea turtles right off the beach. If you do either, hire your own driver to take you--it doesn't cost much more, and when you go through the resort excursion desks, half your time is usually spent picking up and dropping off people at the other resorts. 4. I think TTR plays a room game, and I'm honestly getting sick of it. Despite my online requests and the fact we're repeaters, the last three trips we've been first assigned to room 2115, aka"The dungeon." It's half below ground level (no light), faces the interior (no view) and doesn't have a door on the bathroom (no dice!) This June, they gave me the room number, and I told them I knew the room and wasn't staying in it. They assured me I was wrong...nope...same room they had first tried to give us the last two times. Schlepped back to the desk and politely but assertively said we'd be staying in a quiet room with a bathroom door. Of course they claimed there was no such thing available. I just stated that I'd been there enough times to know they could do much better, and I'd be happy to wait for a manager, and a very nice room became available. Just wanted to give you a heads up that you can request all you want, but this is pretty common practice (had it happen in the US, UK, and France this year...all the same game.) Just remain calm and don't be afraid to reject the first room you're given. 5. Best way to meet people once you're there: "Hi! Where are you from? It's our first time here. What should we make sure we do?"
Summerbum: "4. I think TTR plays a room game, and I'm honestly getting sick of it. Despite my online requests and the fact we're repeaters, the last three trips we've been first assigned to room 2115, aka"The dungeon." Hey Hey Hey now... That's our favorite room...LOL Really, we've had it 4 times, really do like it! If quiet is important make sure you absolutely tell them at the front desk at check in. Don't even unpack if you don't like the room. Look for Alfredo (I think his day off is Tuesday) when you get off your transportation right at the front doors. If it's not crazy busy he will be happy to take you to a room before accepting it (A tip for his trouble is nice). We looked at 2-3 rooms last trip then took 2215 because it was available right then and we love being next to PatyO's. Plus it looks out over the sexy pool. You will have a great time, I as well as everyone on CCC will a test to nearly always wanting go back before the plane going back home has even taken off. Start planning your outfits, and watching for fun theme nights. Don't worry if your not "theme night" people (No One Knows You and No One Gives A Sh!t...you'll see that on signs around the resort). My wife loves theme nights, Me not so much. I don't look so good in a sexy school girl outfit! Go have fun...trust us...You WILL have fun! Jeff
I am getting a good chuckle on the board reading here about people worried about " The Singers " wondering if we are gonna just walk up naked and throw our naughty bits in their faces lol ... usually those in the lifestyle have almost a sixth sense about who is ok with additional fun and who's not up for it ... I almost feel like making a shirt to go there reading " Yes we play No We Don't Bite " lol....
Dam auto correct .... Swingers not Singers lol ... although I do sing a great version of Let It Go from Frozen lol
Not sure we can explain this right, but will give it a try. We are not concerned that there will be constant expectations to play with others. We have a full understanding that for the most part people in that lifestyle are very cool and respectful. Our original question was not aimed at that, and in general and we have no fear that we are going to be hanging out in the pool and suddenly a finger appears where it should not! lol. It was aimed more at the "sexier" aspects of Temptations, such as the Boobs Cruise and pool games. Wanted to know what expectations would be if we participated in those events which are billed as raunchier. Example: If there was a sexy pool game which required us to touch/be touched in a sexual manner by others we would want to know. Totally fine with doing that with each other in a game, but would find it awkward with others. Then a couple mentioned staying away from the sexy pool because of "motorboating" and body shots, and we just wanted the comments clarified. We have no issue with swingers or that lifestyle. We are just more exhibitionist/voyeurs. Everyone has their way to wave their freak flag!
