I'm sure some have been asked before, but thought I would start a thread just to answer questions the wife and I have. Each question has a bit of background to help you understand context: 1) Why do we hear bring $1? Are tips not included at Temptations? Been to other all inclusives and on cruises and it's either included or added to your tab end of the trip. How many should we bring? 2) As you might infer from the name, we are not swingers. We like being sexual around others, but not with them if that makes sense. So when it comes time to say play games at the sexy pool, or go on the Boobs Cruise we have no problem being uninhibited with each other or in front of others, but want to make it clear we are not touching nor don't want to touch/participate with others. Is this even something we need to worry about? 3) We have heard the beach there stinks. But we both really enjoy the beach and/or beach related activities (snorkeling, etc). Is there a beach nearby that we could go to that is nice. Does Temptations have another resort they partner with to share facilities so people can go back and forth? Finally, is there an off sight activities desk and/or availability to get picked up for other things like snorkeling, Xaret, etc? Truth is, between us simply liking other offerings in beach areas plus probably wanting some down time, we will want to do some things off site and want to make sure the resort is in an area where tours/etc pick up. 4) We have heard there are some rooms that we might like more than others. How do we request that ahead of time? Not so much type of room- but location. Specifically, a room next to the loud bar would not make my wife happy. I suspect there will be times we close it down, but the nights we don't she's not going to want the bed rocking (well, at least not from loud music!!):musik026: 5) At the risk of this being the dumbest question ever on the forum, what is the best way to meet people? In a utopian world we would have another couple that would make the trip with us, but that's not happening as our friends at home area all vanilla and some might disown us if we told them where we are going on vacation. If we are going to be there a week, in that type of environment, we do think it would be fun to make some friends to hang out with, but are not the type to just walk up to others and start a conversation. 6) Weather in November?
We've never stayed at Temptations before but have stayed at about 4 other AI Resorts. The only question I can answer is #1. We normally take $100 in 1's for tips. Yes, tips are "included" but we like to tip extra specifically to the people who serve us (housekeeping, bartenders, servers, bellboy). I don't think it normally gets us "better" service. But we like to do it. 1st timers visiting 12/9-12/14!
Yes, tips are "included" but many people tip extra because the staff really does work hard. You'll see how courteous and friendly they are and many will go out of their way to help you. I don't think they earn much money in Mexico, so a few dollars might not be a lot to us, but it would be so helpful to them. Oh we are totally like that, too! Husband and I love to cuddle, kiss and make out with each other but there's no way either of us would ever want to do that with another person! You can be as affectionate as you want with each other. I've been there 3 times and no one has ever pressured us to participate or do anything we didn't feel comfortable doing. You really don't have to worry about this. The beach is fine. It does have some seaweed in it, especially in the mornings. However, there are people around early in the morning to scoop up whatever has washed ashore I've always asked for a room that's quieter. They've always honored the request and we don't hear any party noise at all. It's not a dumb question, but once you get there, you'll see how EASY it is to meet and talk to people. Believe me, I am probably one of the most antisocial people in the US but when I'm at Temptation, I feel comfortable enough to strike up a conversation with just about anyone. Here's a great way to start: Start at the Sexy Pool. You'll see plenty of people lounging around in the water. There are "hot tub" like things all around (the water isn't hot, it just looks like a hot tub) It's very easy to sit in one of these and just say "hi" to the other people there. Ask them where they're from, how long they've been at the resort, have they been there before... Trust me, I'm hardly the person to give advice on socializing, but the atmosphere at Temptation invite it, really. I've been there in December, and it was warm and sunny. It did rain 2 of the 6 nights we were there, but it was still warm enough for tank tops and summer dresses. We waded in the pools and the beach in December, as well as did some kayaking. I think November should be OK, but search histories just in case... My husband and I have been married for 24 years. We are quiet, simple, regular (aka boring) people. We don't party, we don't swing, we rarely socialize and we hardly drink. Somehow, some way, Temptation Resort has become our favorite place in the world. I hope you enjoy your trip!
Cheers2us pretty well says it all. Bottom line is, once you are there for 30 minutes and have some liquor, it will all come naturally. Relax and enjoy. Just live and let live. Oh, one thing... they probably oversold the beach. It's really not very nice, but it is quite probable that you could be there a week and forget to even walk over to the beach. Seriously!
Only thing I see that you do not want touching others, or them touching you, there is alot of of body shots and motorboating going on in the sexy pool, you may want to avoid them areas.
What are you implying? If it's things like that that are required to participate in the games, good to know, we won't do the games, we will just watch. Unless said game has you participating only with spouse. But if you are saying that it's a common behavior that it's acceptable that guys just randomly motorboats a topless woman, well, that is something we would not be cool with. And on the boob cruise- we are find doing whatever to/with each other in front of others, but if it's a grab fest where everyone is free range, we will not like that.
That's not what they mean... It's mostly the women who do the body shots off each other. I've never seen anyone motorboat anybody. Do people even do that lol?? I've had guys do body shots off me, and other guys touch my boobs, but they are always respectful and ask first.
The only advice I can give you is just go with an open mind. Most everybody is respectful, however there may be some flirting that may happen, and keep in mind that alcohol is involved and sometimes someone may get a little touchy. That's why people go to TTR, because nobody is judgemental, and everyone is pretty open. My husband and I are very open and tend to be flirty with others. It's just how we are. We're respectful and would never do anything without making sure the other person is ok with it.
