Just go grab a big ol' bottle of Victoria or Corona Familiar. León isn't bad For a darker amber beer but I've found it hard to find. Negra Modelo is the closest I've found to a darker beer with lots of flavor like an IPA...not that is anything like the heaven that is a good IPA. But I've found that after the first couple, it don't matter...
I saw a balcony show in broad daylight on the ground floor right by one of the restaurants and the only thing that was done was the staff pulled up chairs by the restaurant window and watched lol I think as said, as long as you are quiet, not being obnoxious or drawing large crowds they tend to let things slide.
I don't drink IPA's at all, but I feel your angst, since I love my dark, sweet alles and good hearty stouts. Sorry to say, you'll not find either at TTR. What you get at the pool is Dos Equis Lager (most of the time, and I'm guaging this on my taste buds - which are relatively discerning). But, it's not quite cold enough, so ends up being a bit gassy. And, like the other guy, it gave me a bit of heartburn after the 3-4th day of pounding it down. So, I switched to the hard stuff and felt better, which seems weird to say. Devloping problem, perhaps? As to the monthly visitor, that's happened to us as well, unfortunately. There is a gift shop on side which has a small supply of such items at an extreme markup. Or, you could go down to the store, Wal-Mart? We give balcony sex shows almost each time we're there, it just sort of seems to happen. Nobody has ever said anything about it, from the resort staff, that is. perhaps those signs are a "Liability" issue for the resort? Sort of a "We told them not to do that, and they did it anyway. Blame them." thing. We see folks having full blown sex all the time during the day on the balcony. At night you'll have no rpoblem unless you are so loud that you bother people. You'll also glimpse the occasional oral act in/around the pools if you stay sharp. Just saying.
