We were there during the middle of March this year. Didn't have any problems. Most were very polite and respectful and we had fun hanging out with them. Remember, single guys will act like fools everywhere, not just at TTR.

I was there 2 years ago in July (and planning to return this July) and I was rarely if ever bothered. Then again, I am an average looking woman. Or maybe it is because my husband is really hot and other guys were scared of him. No idea, but we didn't see any obnoxious groups of single guys during our stay. Groups of guys, yes, but they were having fun and drinking but not being obnoxious.

This is normally not a problem and even less likely to be a problem in November. Using common sense is always a good plan.

If there are 6-20 drunk single guys in a specific area of the pool raising hell, try to avoid that area. There are always lots of couples around that your wife can hang with if you are concerned and need to be gone for a few minutes. Saying all this, don't be surprised if some guy (or gal) hits on your wife at some time during your trip. Take it as a compliment:)

Thank you so much to everyone for your great responses and not killing me as a newbie. We have a while to go and we are most definitely going as of right now. Not sure if I can friend any of you as I am a newbie but if any of you could keep me informed on the topic at hand I would be sure to buy you a drink at tempts if we met up. Thanks again.

I'm glad you still want to go! I'm sure you will both have a great time. I really don't think the time of the year matters. We went in June and August and had a large group of guys there both times. Luckily both groups were respectable and didn't get out of control. I think it's more of a warning that you might encounter large groups of males and sometimes there can be a few douche-bags in the group.

There is a group of people from CancunCare (The Chaos Crew)who are there in late Nov. and early Dec. A great group of partiers, a blend of couples and singles. As soon as you get there, get an orange wrist band, (someone, including me, will have extra bands) and get to know some of the Crew. We will have your backs. As Nov. approaches there will be plenty of posts about that time of year. We won't be there until Dec.5 so we will probably miss you but be assured, you will have a great time.

This was a great forum with alot of good feedback for us newbies. It's also nice to see the CCC people looking out for each other when needed. We agree that spring break would seem to be worse than other times. It all comes down to the type of guys though...there are the nicer, mature and respectful ones but then again there will always be a few douche bags! Thanks again for all the helpful info... We can't wait to get there July 6th.

I am a newly single guy. Divorced in Jan. My Ex and I have been to TTR 5 times and we always had a great time. I know what we didn't like about lurking single guys (for some reason moslty from the UK). I won't be like that. But I am also friendly and will talk to anyone. I just want to go, have fun, and not try anything inappropriate... I will also have a female friend with me. Just friends. I hope I won't get the "F#ck Off." But there are good respectful single males like me that come there to actually enjoy the place and not try to screw all the wives....

I'd probably disagree on Spring Break being the worst time for packs of single guys.

Most of the large groups are Brits, it is a culture thing in the UK not so prevalent in Canada or the US. I'm a Brit myself before anyone jumps on me for saying that. British students cant afford to travel to Cancun at Spring Break, the guys we are talking about here have jobs, are 25-30 and travel with friends from football/rugby clubs or the local pub.

The most popular time for them is going to be during football closed season (end May to end August) plus the summer is peak holiday time for Brits.
