Hey 808... You said that after Coco Bongo, we are on our own to get home...so what does that mean...take the bus home...do they run that late? or are there cabs to catch outside of the club?
yea, you have to find your ride back. The bus runs 24hrs but if youre not familiar with the area i dont recommend it even though its just up and down. going back to GP, you have to cross the other side of the street (the clubs are in the other side one way street). you will need to be on the side of the street opposite where you got off the bus. You can take the R-1, R-2 or any other bus that says Hotel Zone or Zona Hotelera on the front window. once you get on, keep an eye on RITZ CARLTON hotel on your left hand side as thats where you need to get dropped off. or pay $15 USD for a cab.
thanks for the quick reply...a cab sounds easier for sure....is there a certain kind to look for...i know when i was in jamaica there were official ones and some just random guys passing as cabs that was a bit scary... thanks again...i just thought we'd go with the hotel group which was cool, don't want to be 2 drunk women lost in cancun in the middle of the night..hahaha
youll be alright. club area in cancun is safer than most US cities. msot of the cab drivers are by the clubs wearing uniform
Hey got another wee question Our luggage allowance is only 20kg for 14 nights. Now this is hardly anything if ur a girl. Anyway to keep It light I'm not taking toiletries and just going to buy out there at walmart. Is the walmart in cancun just as cheap as ones in america? We did this when we went to florida and saved us on luggage space and also money as toiletries were cheap in america. Don't want to think I'm saving on luggage space by not taking toiletries yet I'm going to pay a fortune for shampoo conditioner, shower gel, moisturiser etc.
walmart is a bus ride away and good prices. also, dont bother bringing Tshirts....just pack your nice DRESS shirts and bathing suit. tshirts you can buy there for cheap and you can just toss them out after if you want
yeah, it is a nice (but possibly crowded) bus ride away to Walmart. my g/f and I went there and picked up some sunscreen and ended up getting a bottle or two of our favorite liquor because the prices were so good! we walked to the bus station and rode the R-2 all the way to Walmart for $1 US each.
Ahhh thanks guys again for the info. Yeah I'm not planning on taking tshirts. Just day stuff, night stuff. Was just curious about walmart prices. as mam said when she was in riviera maya they bought suntan lotion and she said it was mega expensive. But I don't know if that's cause she bought from her hotel complex or if it was mexico in general. 1 week on monday and ill be there. Can't wait now.
Angela you are going to love Cancun, pictures do not do the beauty there justice. Lucky you staying for 2 weeks!! My husband & I are heading down for 3 nights on July 4th. Maybe we'll see you there!
