If you want to take a taxi they are lined up at the airport. But yes, USA Transfer is a very good reputable inexpensive private transfer service! Cannot go wrong!... In regards to the timeshare pitch, if you don’t want to do it, just be FIRM and tell them no. Sometimes if you slip past them at check in, they may call your room the next morning and try to set up an appt to come in for it... the sales pitch usually lasts about 90 minutes unless you act interested in which it could last a few hours. Hope that helps.
I use USA Transfer which I Book via the Link in Cancuncare... I’m from the UK and don’t find buying in is worth it for me personally and have no interest in it... Upon Checking in they hand you over to a Concierge/Sales Guy who attempts to book you in for an appointment for a Tour/Sales Pitch well with me they do as it’s usually an evening check in for me... Probably try and take you there and then if you book in at an earlier time of day... Sometimes I just let them book it but don’t go and unplug the Phone in my Room as they called the room looking for me in the Past... But now I just say a firm NO. I just said Thanks but I’m not interested in Buying in or a Tour I’ve been several times before. Bye... He had a bit of an attitude and didn’t seem happy but it’s too bad.. No point in wasting my time and his time... Just say that you’re Not Interested. Don’t worry about doing the Tour it’s not needed... Everyone is friendly there and there’s loads of repeaters that will keep you right and point you in the right direction with anything you are looking for... Also part of the fun is discovering where everything is on your first trip. Have a Great Trip... :0)
We arrived later in the day and nobody from the tours was there. They left a note under our door the next morning, we just ignored it and never heard back. We were not on referral, and have no intention of purchasing. We met a couple that did the time share pitch, they were a firm no thanks the entire time and it was fine. USA Transfers was great. $5 for two Carona as we left the airport. He took us the longer way (asked first) so we could see the sites of Cancun. Way back to the airport was less scenic...
Agree with all of the above. USA Transfers is the way to go (book through the link here on CCC) As for the pitch? Who buys a lifetime holiday based on a holiday you haven't had yet?! Just tell them that. How can you argue with that?!
We have been 4 times we tell them no at check in and when we get to our room we just unplug the phone and have a blast the rest of week.
But I did walk out on my 3rd and LAST presentation! After telling them " NO " for the millionth time and them not understand the word! I said FU and walked out the Glass Doors towards the pool! IF and thats' a BIG IF. I'll just give the money to the member in cash and skip the BS!
I wouldn’t ever go on premier again, no butler, therefore could not get the promised surf and turf dinner. Could not get reservations to she, bartenders were serving us non premium booze over 2/3s the time. We also stayed in the tower, so we had access to sky bar already. 2 hours and the anxiety of that presentation wasn’t worth a few thimbles of grey goose.
On the pitch, if you've never been what I've heard works from folks is to say you are not interested in getting into a timeshare at all until you've had at least 3 vacations at a place, and this is your first time at Temptation. Gentle firm "No," still works OK to get out of the presentation. Taxi service to the resort "can" be OK, and it could also go ugly if you're unfamiliar with taxi scams, but it sounds like you're familiar with those. Generally, the nice thing about the shuttle service is that you schedule the arrangement in advance, they're waiting out the front of the airport just as you described, and within just a couple minutes of walking outside you're in your shuttle van (or Cadillac Escalade or Lincoln navigator, depending on provider) and you're off to the resort the quickest way possible -- as it in their interests to get more rides, not make more money out of You. We've used several services, but now that USA Transfers is linked up to the resort (TTR and/or the Desires) as their provider, we've used them the last five trips or so. Seamless, flawless!
the last time we were there, we were greeted by a nice woman. we sat down and she started to explain the time share thing. we explained to her that we have done the time share pitch before and we were not interested. She sat with us a while (basically said, lets just sit here to make it look like we are talking about something) gave us a care "in case we changed our mind" and wished us a good time.
