Hi, I'm new to these boards. Going to Cancun my first time this year and am looking for a Harley Davidson bike-rental place as well as a car-rental shop which has a good variety in sporty cars.

Can anyone help out? Thanks! :D

Send Jim and Kathy in Ohio a PM.

I know they have rented Harley's before an I'm sure they'd be happy to tell you where the place they rented from is and what their experience was like.

    Speed bumps

A sports car would be almost useless. You've never seen the speed bumps in Cancun or on the way to Playa. You're better off renting a Hummer

There's a new place in Cancun called Hardtails and Beaches (I think that's their name), and I'm fairly certain that they are the only game in town for renting Harley's right now. They are across the street (parking lot, really) from Plaza Caracol. Hope that helps.

I rented a car through Easyway car rental last year and was pleased with them. Their prices are good and the insurance is included in their rates. For an extra $15 per day you can get their zero deductible insurance whice means you have no liability at all. I already have a car reserved with them for my upcoming trip in July as well.

    Check out http://www.easywayrentacar.com/

In my opinion, a sports car or any other fancy car would be a waste of money. First of all, a flashy rental car makes you a target for thieves who like to break into cars. And, trust me, they know its a rental car from a mile away. Secondly, the roads can be terrible in some places. Lastly, save your money for other stuff, like beer and tacos.

Thanks for the direction. Yeah, maybe I should settle for something less exotic in the car department. easywayrentacar does some half-decent jeeps. Doesn't cost that much either

Just keep in mind that jeeps do not have AC. Driving around in the Mexico heat without AC can be very unpleasant.
