Us too! We miss the old TTR and find ourselves losing interest in the new one.

Has anyone priced out airport transportation for the 95km to the new resort. My quick search returned quotes of $400 round trip. Adding in that cost and the higher airfare, I might just stay in Cancun.

That along with the no direct flights from Texas will probably keep us from trying it as well. That adds up to a lot more travel time and cost.

It does make for some very long travel days, especially if you add in an extra 2 hours to get to the resort. And the airfare cost differential is not a trivial amount. We would love to be able to go, but it just doesn't look worthwhile at this point.

I know someone who operates shuttles in the DR quoted $200 round trip for up to 4 people in one of the TTR Miches FB groups.

Texas people have always had an advantage over most of the rest of the country as far as airfare. I understand that they would prefer Cancun. East coast people would be more likely to try the Dominican Republic. Airfare is still a little higher to DR but not much.
Rooms at Grand Temptation DR are cheap right now. Compared to Desire.
We knew that shuttle prices would be higher. Not $400, but $200 sounds about right. About the same distance as Cancun to Tulum would be. That’s $150 rt
Looking forward to opening the new resort.
