New Rules For Canadians - Covid-19

I’m no expert but it seems like the biggest problem is people not changing their daily activities that’s causing more of the spread. Just look at what the numbers did right after the holidays. Just my 2 cents. We caught it on an international travel and came straight home and quarantined and we still have 4 kids living at home and none of them caught it

 

The wife had COVID and quarantine in our house with my son and I and neither one of us got it.

 

If you test positive in Canada are you required to go to a government facility?

 

Thats correct, when you land and if you test positive you will be escorted to a hotel that the Canadain government has taken over that will be under 24 hour security by RCMP.

 

I mean like now, or before this.

 

Thats what is going to happen in a few days. Currently you dont need a test when you land juat 72 hours before departure.

 

Starting Monday when you return from international travel you’ll be quarantined in an isolation hotel at your expense for up to three days while waiting for a test result. If your test is negative you’re sent home to complete the required 14 day self isolation. The cost could be up to $2000. If you test positive then you get directed to a government facility.

They also suspended direct flights to Mexico/Caribbean, and restricted where incoming flights can land to a few major hub airports.

Prior to this you were required to self isolate at home for 14 days. (There was also a pilot program that shortened this time.)

Depending where you are it can be difficult to travel between provinces as well. A number require 14 day quarantines...

 

in Denmark we can only land if we have a negative test that must not be more than 24 hours old.

 

If you have never traveled, and are just living in Canada. If you test positive can you stay in your home, or are you taken somewhere?

 

Yes you just stay at home. These new rules only apply to traveling out of the country.
