I sure know, Steve))) I kind of think by the Western criteria ) They have taxi meters even in Russia or Ukraine these days)
Are these new rates just for the taxis "roaming" the streets? I don't think they apply ro the "Radio taxis" or "Sitio taxis" cause these guys have rates of their own and are usually higher then the street cabs. What would the new rate from Puerto Jarez (Ferry terminal) to the airport be (according to the new rate schedule)?
Looks like the good times are over: I've had six taxi rides so far today and all have been charged at the new rates.... Question for ToriB- are there published route maps for the city buses? If not, could you make one?!
pocodinero: If you look in the top left corner there's a box addressing the sitio and radio taxis. Sitio taxis charge $12 over the normal fare. Radio taxis charge $10 more than the normal fare from 6am to 6pm, and $13 more from 6pm to 6am.
Rates to the airport are all $210 or $235, unless from a Sitio or RadioTaxi as Gringation points out. I bet you can still negotiate as it is a lot cheaper to get a taxi to the bus station and take the ADO to the airport, which runs every 30 minutes for the most part.
If anyone wants a full size, easier to read, copy of the rate card, send me a PM with your email and I will send you jpg files. The size is almost legal size so you will need the ability to print on legal size paper if you want to have a hard copy. Cheers,
The link that CC posted only list the "city buses" that go into the HZ. There are so many real city buses that have origins and destinations I am unaware of. I just know what roads they travel so I know which will take me to where I need to go. I think I learned from standing outside of Plaza Las Americas and taking notes.
