    These were clearly used, but it didn't matter to them. They were going to get me no matter what. The worse part wasn't the fine. It was their superior pissy attitude as if I was some peon and they were the elite. It was probably more of a power trip. In fact, I had some new stuff in their packaging that they made me open and didn't tax. It was a one hour ritual, literally. I figure I've gotten away without paying any duties for many years, so, the money wasn't the issue. Telling me to take out my wallet and lay all my money out on the table did bother me. Then, acting as if they were insulted that I came to their country with so little money.

    I came in one time with a huge overweight bag, including two laptops and they asked me if I thought 1,000 pesos was fair. I said yes, paid it and went on my way. They never even opened the bag.
