In need of someone good to take out existing tile in my unit and install new. Does anyone know anyone and know approx. the tear out and install rate per sq. meter? Also good place besides Interceramica and Home Depot to buy porcelain tile?

I know a guy called Johnny who is a fantastic tiler and also does beautiful plaster work on walls, that technique that makes them look smooth like marble.

He cleans up and is tidy and honest.

    Johnny - 998 155 1616

Don't know the price off the top of my head, but he's very reasonable.

There are tile places on the road to Merida leaving Cancun, but to be honest the best I found was at Interceramic.

    Is this guy Mexican?

I usually buy my tiles at Mundo de Azulejos on Portillo, not far from Kabah, towards town, not towards Merida.

There are many tile places on Lopez Portillo. I have bought some at a store across from the Chedraui on Lopez. Also, you may want to check out Boxito. The Boxito close to the McDonalds on Tulum seems to have the largest disply.

Matkirk. Is Johnny really skinny? Sounds like a guy I have used that we called Flaco. He did my walls. Pasta Da Vinci is I think what you are talking about.

The price in Cancun should be around

50 cents per square foot on tear out

    Ceramic Tile Installed $1.25/SF | Porcelain $1.75/SF

Add 50cent diagonal install, this does not include the cost of the mud and grout or any materials

as a point of reference in the USA I pay

$1.00 per square foot on tear out

    installation should be around

    Ceramic Tile Installed $.75/SF | Porcelain $1.00 /SF
