1. The departure tax is usually included in your ticket price. I think the only US airline that doesn't is JetBlue but check with your airline in advance. JetBlue announces it on the flight. 2. Already answered 3. You might need your passport to change money or cash Travellers checks. Excursions? I'm sure Steve knows. 4. Other tips - just relax, you're on vacation! Don't worry too much about all of the details. One of the best things about TR is that you don't have to leave the resort unless you want to. I pick up about $100 in ones and alot of $5 and $10 at the bank for tips. Keep it in the room safe with any valueables I bring(like Credit cards, passport etc.) and take out what I'll need for the day. Be sure to bring some long pants, closed toed shoes, nice shirt for the specialty restaurants. I mean for the man. Beyond that, just have a good time.
