After the July we had last year in the Pacific NW I would have loved to have been in Cancun then - cool and raining all month in Seattle! We only had about a month and half of summer weather this past year :-( We will be in Cancun three weeks from tomorrow and I cannot wait!! I have been doing hot yoga lately, so I think I can handle the heat a little better (I just about died when we went to Chichen Itza last January, the heat and humidity was suffocating!) - it has been really cold here lately, so hot yoga and the tanning bed are blissful in preparation for our trip!

Sept. and Oct. are definitely hurricane months, but the worst hurricanes that have hit Cancun have all been in Oct. We got stuck in a tropical storm in Oct. 2011 and it shut the resort down, no rain parties in the pool or anything - all the restaurants were closed and you could hardly walk anywhere due to the wind and rain, and the tile was so slippery. The resort is not fun in those conditions, thankfully we had a few good days after the storm, enough to make us want to come back two more times (and soon to be three) - weather was great January and April when we were there in 2012.

I think you will have a great time regardless when you choose to go, there is always a great crowd it seems no matter what month you are there!!!

We have a large group that will be returning in September. We did deal with some storms our first 2 days but the rest of the trip was beautiful! We will be going again with the same group around mid September this year. Personally my wife and I will be booking a longer stay than last time just to ensure that if there is bad weather we still have some sunny days.
