36 hrs until the plane leaves and my camera decides to give up....had to run out and buy a new camera tonight...would have been horrible if it had decided to quit in the middle of our trip......so near disaster was averted....BTW bought the Pentax Optio Waterproof our last one was great....just old....see you on Saturday....

We bought the new Waterproof Pentax last year for our trip (the W30 - is there a newer one now?) Loved it - takes killer pics. One thing we do on every trip - I bring multiple chips with me - at least four or five, and then change them out as we go along and put them in the safe - that way if the cam gets lost or stolen, the pix (which are really what's valuable in the camera, not the damn camera!) are safe. With as cheap as memory cards are now, no reason not to ...
I am going to bring my laptop next year so that I can download all the pictures everyday and then I will have double back up. Also want a waterproof camera for pool pictures
We had the WP but after 5 trips and countless other parties/gatherings the latch gave out...still takes photos but I would'nt trust in now in the water...bought the W30 as well....the new W60 comes out end of July...just could'nt wait for it....I too have oodles of memory cards for that very reason....
