I wouldn't eliminate R's pending status just yet. You think the INM gods were pissed off before???!!! But good luck and let's hope it gets resolved.
Jim: I dont jump until I have my FM3 in my hand, hehe. But, at least Im on the right path... V: Its about bloody time that they did their job :xyxthumbs:
I dropped my FM3 off on friday cause i need a number writing in it to get a curp, she said come back monday. Monday i returned waited an hour and a half while she chatted with her boyfriend, then she went and did something, gave it to me, I presumed it was mine, walked out to the car, sat down looked at it and it wasn't me, so went back and she had gone to lunch, man in office goes "come back please", me "you want me to walk out again with someone elses FM3", "si senor come back later", me "are you sure", "yes please leave and come back later", "with someone eleses fm3?", "yes"....and she put the wrong number in it - i need the registro de extranjeros number writing in it, but she is refusing to do that and instead writing the expediente number. So when i do hopefully get my FM3 back tonight I will go to the CURP office tomorrow and they will say "you need the number of the extranjero registry" and I will say "yeah I know", then I'll go to immigration and they'll say no and then I'll just go back to work unable to get a CURP and after wasting 5 hours of my life when I could've been making money at work. At the moment I am called Estaban from Colombia and have a lot more hair on my head than i did this morning...
Mat, Like with me, any hair that Esteban has would be more than yours. Sorry about that hassle. I try to write down names, and make a point that they see me writing theirs down, when something like this happens. I wonder if Rawkus' in trouble lady is the same one who may have given your FM3 away.
A small part of me really hopes Esteban goes into INM today before 5 pm asking for his FM3. "No sé quien es este tal mat Kirk, pero ahora puedo viajar facilmente al Reino Unido!" (They're similar-looking enough to make for an interesting case of identity theft.)
My Boss handed my my fresh and correct FM3 today. I feel sorry for all of you're frustrations, but going with a Lawyer, no matter how "simple" the process may be, seems like the only sure fire way.
Mat, you're in luck: you DO need the expediente number to get the CURP, rather than the other. If there's no line, you'll be in and out of the CURP process in ten minutes, or less.
just starting More fresh meat. We handed in our FM3's and Expediente Basico yesterday. The FM3 requirements seemed pretty straight forward and I used all the same letters etc as last year. The Expediente Basico has some new requirements, such as a letter listing all the employees (that's just Joanne and I) and another listing what activities we conduct in our business. I made up a letter saying we sell books. They specifically ask for a copy of your Acta Constitutiva in the requirements, but the clerk refused it and asked for a copy of our Expediente Basico from last year instead. I have learned from past experiences to carry every piece of paper (and a copy) ever given to you for such occasions. I made a couple of mistakes with the Expediente Basico online application, but was able to fix them using IMN's touch screen computer. That is a great addition to the shabby office. The online form asked for the Acta Constitutiva's number, something I have never been asked for before. It took a long time and the advice of a man in the office to find the number, buried on one of the last pages of the 18 page document. Now I guess we wait until summoned via the internet? One question, all the people outside, what are they waiting for? Rob
