DAY 5 ~ MONDAY I woke up at 6, peeked out the curtains, and it was cloudy. Norb got up before 7, and we went to the buffet for breakfast. Waffles and bacon today ... yummy! The hallways inside the Royal are very tropical ... Right outside our door ... The resort is just beautiful! By 8 a.m. the sun was trying to peek through the clouds. I forgot to mention that someone in our two person party didn't pack enough underwear, I won't mention any names, but it wasn't ME! So we had to find a laundry. I asked the concierge at the resort, and she told me there is one very near the Royal, almost right across the street. So we packed up some of our stinky clothes and off we went to the laundry. Ditzy didn't want to go, of course ... typical man! He stayed at the hotel, enjoying a beer on the patio ... Poor Mitzy had to drag that bag of dirty clothes on the streets of Playa. We got to the laundry, and Mitzy introduced herself to the girls there ... Here's Mitzy waiting on the washing machine ... Norb wasn't feeling too well today, so I left him in his lounge chair, and I took a walk. Here's the town square, decorated for Christmas ... Tree and Santa ... There were poinsettias everywhere, it looked very pretty. And then ... you'll never guess who I saw by the Christmas tree ... SANTA TROLL!!! I invited him to stop by the Royal later and have a drink with Mitzy & Ditzy, and he said OKAY! When I got back to the hotel Mitzy had joined Ditzy on the patio for a beer ... and, next thing I knew, they were swinging in the hammock ... Norb said he was feeling better, so we walked on the beach ... went to Kool's Beach Club, it looked crowded ... We went back to Pelicanos and shared a pizza for lunch ... Might as well have some guac and chips with that pizza ... And how about a Miami Vice and a Pina Colada ... After lunch I asked Norb if he wanted to walk down 5th Avenue to that Cuban bar for mojitos. The mojitos were just a distraction to get Norb to walk to the pier with me. I had an ulterior motive ... I was looking for that very cute bombero, so I could buy a t-shirt for my son. I was disappointed AGAIN ... no bombero! ... I mean, no t-shirt for my son Might as well drown my sorrows ... in Havana Club ... Those mojitos are GOOD! Back to the hotel, and look who we found ... Santa came to visit Mitzy & Ditzy ... The three of them had a fun afternoon at the beach, then Santa had to get back to work at the North Pole. But, don't worry, I told him who was NAUGHTY and who was NICE on the forum ... Norb and I had reservations tonight at the Chef's Plate specialty restaurant, so we went back to our room to shower and dress. The Chef's Plate is a set menu, you get what they serve you, sort of like my house ... TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT. We were served an amaretto cranberry cocktail, I don't like amaretto. Then we got a plate of 3 dips for the bread ... and duck salad ... the chef grilling the shrimp ... shrimp and potatoes ... and for dessert, a mousse ... We didn't care for the amaretto cocktails or the duck salad, but the rest of the dinner was good. Tonight's show featured a mariachi band, and they were excellent, especially this trumpet player ... Stopped in the Lobby Bar for a drink, then back to our room. I started packing up, tomorrow we are moving to another hotel for 4 more nights in Playa! GOODNIGHT!
Norb only packed enough undies for 5 days??? :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: Santa Troll is cute!! I hope you told him about how NICE i've been!! :angel: What did Mitzy do on the beach with those two handsome trolls??

Very nice report! I am starting to think that you really like that Havana Club Rum. Ha! As always... very impressive report and pictures. Always makes us longing to return.
