That shall be my mission next month. I shall enlist the help of 2 certain bartenders to assist me. (Oh no..we did it again ...hijack!!! But I think by now people expect it of us. )
maybe they are the ones that owe my mother some money for taking here hahahahha that is one think i dont remember about the car, was the emblem on the gas tank, but i remember the rest... i also remember hanging out the car window once on the hwy because it was like mid july 200 degrees and a tractor trailer had flipped over and the hwy was stopped dead and the bloody gremlin (like alot of cars back then) did not have air conditioning
oh tell me about it. i was only like 5 or 6 at the time, but i remember this so clearly. it was a horrible horrible day and the truck was just in flames and with the hot temps and trying to get by it .ugh ugh ugh...
First car was a '79 Jeep CJ-7 that I drove after getting my license in 1981. Shortly thereafter I went to a '76 Camaro. We now have three vehicles, a Hyundai Sonata (mine), a Chevy Blazer (Dawn's), and Justin's Honda CRX. I think the car that I loved the most was our '86 Toyota Celica GT that we had in Germany. We burnt up the Autobahn with that vehicle. The only setback was that when we shipped it back to the U.S., we had to have the catalytic converter installed and pay the excise tax for the vehicle since we bought it tax-free abroad. I think that the first license plates set us back in the neighborhood of $800 because of said excise tax. Still that vehicle was hugely dependant. I have found that our Sonata is just as dependable... haven't had any problems with it beyond the cd player acting up, which they replaced under warranty. But it's not nearly as sporty.
Good thread, R.I. Gal. My first car was 1971 Chevy pickup that I purchased in 1979 for $750. It had the ole “three-on-tree” standard transmission and the fuel tank right behind the seat back. Classic (but, of course, I didn't realize it at the time). I wish that still had it. We do still have Melinda’s first car. A 1969 Mustang Fastback. 351 Cleveland. Auto transmission. A/C Everything is original. 64,000 miles on it. We’ve had it covered and in storage since the kids were young. Marsh
Nice! Will we being seeing this one at Barrett-Jackson in the future? Ha! Watched some this year's auction and couldn't believe that GM Futurama Bus went for $4.3 million. Amazing. Still that auction has some beautiful vehicles.
