First car was a 1985 Suburban that my dad essentially gave me when I turned 16. Had 230,000 miles on it and was the party car in high school. It eventually died when it hit 330,000 miles. Bought a 1990 Buick Park Avenue when I graduated high school in '99 that had less than 50,000 miles on it - paid $5000. That one died after my dad bought it from me for a commuter car. He left the keys in it at a bar (I'm from a very small town) and a drunk got in it, drove it about 3 miles, wrecked it, and it burnt up (the drunk was fine). Had a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix for just over a year after that and traded it for an orange 2004 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab Z71 which I'm still driving today.
First car '79 ford granada, she was a beaut.Numerous other cars followed but I would say my fave was my '75 CJ 5 Jeep.Lots of memories. My 2nd fave was '93 Toyota T-100 truck.Sadly she just passed recently.
1969 Ford Fairlane(4door) that the parents bought, got re-ended 2times then bought the 73 Wagoneer for $600 and eventually got T-boned and for the insurance money bought a 86 Wagoneer(for the $1600 the other guys insurance paid) then went thru Mid-Life Crisis and took loan on my 401K and bought me a 80 L82 Corvette. 86 Jeep started its Vapor Locking Crap and MADE the husband help me buy a 03 Trailblazer and we now still have the 03 Trailblazer, 86 Jeep and MY CORVETTE, along with his many automotive possesions.(I will let him elaborate on those!) Debbie
I started out in 1986 with a 1976 Chevy Nova, handed down from my older sister. That V-6 would never die, but the rest did after I cracked the frame on it offroading. Next was a 1981 Datsun 210 station wagon. I got it by cashing in some bonds I had gotten as presents. I put in some big box home stereo speakers in the back, forgot to latch the sunroof once and lost it going down a hill (used plexiglass from then on). I drove that thing with 3 working cylinders for a while. Moved up to a 1983 Plymouth Horizon hatchback after that. It was silver with red corduroy seats. Quite stylish in Florida. I traded that in (got $100 for it) when I bought my first new car, a 1994 Toyota Tercel. put 150k on that one until I hit the deer, then traded it in on my roommates new car, and took over the payments on his 1997 Saturn. I just got rid of that one (190k), and now have a 2005 Chevy Impala. Good times.
