I had a similar situation once, as well. My credit card was stolen, and I hadn't used it in quite some time. My credit card company called me due to "suspicious activity". The jerks were still able to charge $3,000.00 before the freeze was put in place, but at least I wasn't responsible for the charges. I was so relieved that the credit card company picked up on the fraud, though. My brother and his wife had this happen to them last month. Their credit card company picked up on it, too. It's good to know that the credit card companies and various banks are paying attention!
