We do allow single guys but only if they are known from here and in groups of no more than 2. We dont have many single guys at all.
The bar at lunch is included but if you want to buy drinks at the downtown Isla Mujeres stop then a beer is around $2 with a mixed drink about $5. We are only there an hour so there's only enough time for 2 or 3 drinks. There are about 6 or 7 crew members. Tipping etiquette is they will come round with a tip jar towards the end of the trip, the tips are divided between all the crew so no need to tip individually.
There is usually 4-5 on the Boat (Crew) and the the lunch was more of a Buffet/serve yourself. When we went shopping we did stop at a bar for a little. I gave $10 to the Boat crew and the normal 15% at the Bar, it always helps to have lots of $1s. We will be on the BC with you, (2 of the 5 with gnr69er) you are more than welcome to hang with us... See ya there! Anja & Eryn
Sounds like lots of fun so total time from leaving the resort to return is ??? Also safe drinking water is or is not available on the boat ? Is there ample shade for those who can't take the sun all day ? and. Are people respectful of picture taking? Some vacationers just can't risk pics showing up on the web...... Thanks !!!
People are respectful for the most part but if you are worried about pics of you showing up on the internet then the whole TTR experience might not be for you. Time is about 9:15 to 5:00. There is safe drinking water, especially if you bring your own. There is plenty of shade by heading to back of the boat.
Now, keep in mind that I was on a Boobs Cruise the last week of November when daily high temps are not that hot, AND I'm one of those skinny chicks that's always cold, but I was happy that I brought a T-shirt on the boat. Good if it gets cloudy and windy, good if you're getting too much sun, and good to be a little covered up if you are going shopping on the island, as the locals will leer at you if you have your sexy bits on display. Even if you don't normally like to tie back your hair, bring a clip/elastic band/barrettes, as it gets irritating having it blowing in your face (and your drink dammit) all day. Ocean = wind. As for incriminating pics, I know there are a number of those of me on the boat, but people won't post the nekked ones on here, and I believe that generally the nekked photos are only shared amongst those who were on the boat thru a passworded picture site (oh god, let that be true lol). But if you are very sensitive to that issue, just leave your top on. Chinos will be quite persistent in trying to get it away from you to tie up on the mast ropes, so bring an extra if you really don't want to be topless. Of course, he'll probably try to take that one from you, too. As for shade, you can go inside the cabin, but it'll just be you and the bartender down there! Better to bring a big hat and clothes to cover up with if you are prone to sunburn. Once you are on the island, you can find shade no problem for a couple of hours. Tipping: the crew passes a jar around at the end of the trip, and you tip everyone at once that way, all at the same time. No need to tip the crew through the day. I think I tipped $15 (for just me). I saw a lot of couples tipping $20. The crew does work really hard all day, and the $60 boat trip price is very reasonable for everything that is included.
Thank you for the information and great advice and thank you also simplyus35...sounds like we will skip the cruise but continue going to TTR.....
