Can anyone tell me how rough the ferry ride is? I would love to visit this island but I have severe motion sickness and am allergic to traditional motion sickness drugs. I'd prefer not to take benadryl (my usual choice) as it makes me very sleepy.
Take the fast ferry and you should be ok. We took the cheap ferry and I made it there but it was close...on the way back I got lucky enough to ride on the front opened deck and was fine. Fast ferry for me from now on!
Empyrean....It probably depends on the day, but the day we went it wasn't rough at all. It's a pretty fast boat; the ride only takes 10 or 15 minutes (at least that's the way I remember it). On the way out we were inside and on the way back we enjoyed the ride topside. Seems like round-trip was about $7 pp. As for the golf carts, the one we rented was from a little place across the street and a little to the right (south) of the ferry dock. I believe we paid $40 (we split it with another couple so it was $20 for them, $20 for us). If you go to I.M., be sure and stop by Jax Bar & Grill next to North Beach. Best cheeseburger I've had in years. And I think we only paid around $6US for a bucket of Coronas.
I may not remember much, but when it comes to vacations, I tend to remember even the most minor details (for instance, our room number at GP was 308, but fare was 65 cents and 5 slammers in 5 minutes at the Tiki Bar gets me plastered!). :wow:
That's great info...I had to miss a trip there in November but I really want to see this Island so we'll try it this time. Thanks!
& don't exclude yourself from playing the games. The more games you're involved in, the more your popularity picks up on the resort! Have Fun!! BOOOO-YAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
