Hahaha isn't that song like 5 years old? Never heard it there, but doesn't mean you couldn't try. My one friend likes Cardi B and gets them to play her.

I would say the new music played there isn't new. Always think whatever was popular the summer before...and the 2 before that.

Jen, much to my chagrin, has asked for $20, run over to the dj, made a request and gets it played. But without the $ we have mostly been unsuccessful at the new TTR.

At the old TTR they let her takeover the music for an afternoon at the sexy pool and she hooked up her iphone. She was quite persuasive with the young man :) in that scenario

Hahhahahaha, Yea I hear ya. I pretty much stay out of most of this music conversation on CCC.

I play the drums, and I am pretty much a rock guy (classic, 80s,90s), but I am also realistic and I host a ton of parties, so I know you CAN'T play that. The people that come to my house are all over the place (age and style), and so the music is all over the place too. Lots of my friends are pretty talented and there are many musicians, singers, and dancers. Sometimes new party goers think they are at a show. It's fun, but the number one thing is that whoever is controlling Alexa or the Ipod is generally playing "good music", even if it isn't your genre. It may be all over the place, but the songs are more or less hits/musically well done (and rare songs that would have been hits if they ever were really played on the airways).

Several of the songs on your list have come on at my house (I would consider them mostly semi-recent Top 40 pop/rap), and like you said the goal is to get things TURNT up. Some of them will probably be played on your upcoming trip, but they won't be the bulk of what is played.

I feel sometimes Temptation does pretty decent, but other times they miss the mark. And like many have said, repeat the same stuff WAY too much. If they cut out the multiple repeats it would allow them to open the catalog up a bit more. Making it easier for successful navigation of the songs and the crowd. That's just my advice, and we all just kind of keep our fingers crossed it will get better. It probably won't, because like many have stated the crowd diversity (age and style) is just too great (but that's what makes TTR what it is). So the crushing the music can almost be an impossible task. High level advice would be: needs some more new hits, old cool stuff, techno dance/EDM, obscurities, less Pit Bull and significantly less repeats (a rule the same song only 1 time a day, and 1 time a night should be enacted).

I know music can make a party and set the tone, but honestly at Temptation unless they are doing a worse than normal awful job on a particular day/night, you can pretty much get over it and just enjoy whatever shenanigans you and your crew are doing.

Good tip! I should hope that $20 would at least get you 3 songs!

Last April, the DJ would just get going with a good string of songs, then play several crap songs that would immediately clear the dance floor like someone let a silent killer rip.

If I was a DJ, I would watch the floor, see what gets people dancing, and play more of the same general kind of stuff. If the floor suddenly clears and stays empty, I would think, "ooo...I messed up there...better switch it up". NOT make the exact same mistake every night (usually with the same songs). I would not presume to DJ, but there's a million good songs out there to choose from, from all different eras. No reason to play the same 50 songs every night, good, bad and ugly.

DJ didn’t know who Post Malone was in February!
    Could not believe it.
