And you just didn't take over anyway? Surprise Surprise. I guess it's not worth getting kicked out for. They should just be trying to please us 24 / 7
Hi sue I did ask to do the same thing before and going to try again this time will send email before go and got big group of people coming back and see if we can have a party in nice shoes when its empty or we may all sneak up to the cigar bar gonna bring some speakers. Why not let us play if its only our people in the group still in contact with some of the entertainment staff and one of the customer service girls so give it another go. you not going back in may are you lol
I wish I arrive this sunday 25th november for 3 weeks, there is gonna be a big group of us, i know someone is taking speakers so we may give it a shot lol.. wish I could go in may, but I work the summer season in IBIZA march to november.. so afraid only winter vacations.. when chinos was there he said i could do a set anytime, dont seem to be able to get that offer from anyone else lol..I did read on temtation page a monthes ago they were starting a guest dj night were dj/guests could do 1 hour spots.. but never heard anything else about it.
I will go out on a limb and side with the DJ's on this one. They have to cater to a wide age range and a huge geographical range. Brits, US, Canadians, Latinos anywhere from 21 to 70 yrs old. Everyone has different tastes in music and it's impossible to cater for all. I remember on a Boobs Cruise a long time ago a group from Texas bringing along their favourite CD to play. Their group loved it, but the other 40 outside of Texas had never heard the tracks ever. My favourite music is Britpop from the 90's - Oasis, Blur, some Stereophonics etc, I also like some Robbie Williams, but play those and you'll kill the dancing for anyone not from that age range and from the UK. Also the DJ's work long hours, when they are finished work they probably aren't going to let you use their system for another couple of hours while they twiddle their thumbs. They need to put the equipment away and make sure it's ready for the morning, get home and have some time off before they work again. Rafa is our usual DJ on the Boobs Cruise. Often he finishes at 2 or 3am, drives 20 miles home to catch some sleep and is back on the boat setting up again at 9:00am. When he finishes the cruise and has put the equipment away by 6pm he may be working in the evening at Temptation around 9pm until the early hours again. At the hotel, bring your own portable system and set up after the DJ has finished by all means. On the cruise do not be afraid to ask for requests, either ask the DJ directly or me. Single tracks are fine and we'll fit them in if the DJ has it, we wont play whole play lists though because it usually doesn't suit the whole group or the flow of the cruise. We also wont hook up ipods - looking for a specific track among several thousand songs and getting it queued at the right time isn't helpful. The DJ's know their playlists, and can find a specific song in seconds but they don't know yours.
All set up Sue. I've got my DAB radio, which is fitted with rechargeable power pack (doesn't need a plug to power), meaning we can set it up anywhere! I can hook up my mp3 player, or an ipod if anyone esle wants to play something. I'm also bringing my netbook which anybody can download music into from an external source (memory stick, SD card, CD, mp3 device etc), which in turn can be uploaded as set lists into my mp3 player. The DAB isn't 'mega' loud. It's loud enough to hear in a medium-sized space, but not loud enough to annoy people trying to sleep. I figure it will do for after-hours at Paty O, or if we want to migrate to beach or 24hr pool or something. Also going to try for ground floor near Paty O room again...might be a great meeting spot for a bit of pre-party music and drinks, whilst putting on 'theme' gear on theme nights! Eliminates the 'walk of shame' you have to do walking down the corridors in theme gear as a solo or couple!
The requests that we make are the ones that have been played there over the past 14 times that we have been at Temptations. Laying around the pool is a big difference than in patyos. People are not going to get up off of their chairs and leave the pool area just because they dont like one song.
A lot of times is just a computer playing a playlist,( in the morning they played all slow stuff,, sounded like Yoga music ) so for them to insert a song is just too technical. The last time we had a live ''DJ'' by the pool for their daytime pool party they played all the crap with no vocals,,, techno stuff, house music or whatever they call it and nothing else ALL DAY.(It was just one day thank God ) We ended up leaving and going to the quiet pool it was so annoying but all the 20 year olds liked it..
I have next to nothing of recent music (that's a lie - I have nothing!), so appreciate if you can bring a selection of anything you want to hear!
