The two times we went (Dec '09 & Oct '10) I brought Diet Dew in my checked luggage. No problems. Diet Dew is my caffeine in the morning since I don't drink coffee. However, I think I've read somewhere in one of the many discussions in this forum that someone said that either the store across the street from the hotel has (had) or Walmart did.
Will be taking a LOAD of sugar free red bull with me then. I struggle with the lack of sugar free drinks in Cancun. Normally at home my staple hangover cure is sugar free Dr Pepper.
In 20 + years of traveling i have yet to find ginger ale anywere in the south . When you ask for a Rye and Ginger they give you sprite. Sorry mate
