I have done some google search and get some quote from Insubuy, American Visitor Insurance,... they are quite similar to World Normads around $125-$150 for a 7 days trip. My concern is that how could I be sure that the hospital in Cancun will accept these insurance? Like we only pay the deductible or Do we have to pay like 10-20K out of pocket first and then file claim to get it back?
You'll have to pay out of pocket once they determine care. Unless you have complete proof of insurance, this might mean fronting a lot of money. I would make absolutely sure. You don't want to be escorted from the hospital in a wheelchair because you can't pay any more. Your biggest concern shouldn't be the insurance, it should be the availability of care, hospital beds, and medical professionals. There's no guarantee at all that you will get a doctor, let alone a hospital bed. Finding out if that particular hospital recognizes international coverage is a good plan. I can access the very best of the best medical care, and for that I'm grateful. But even then, we canceled. Keep in mind, the reported available doctors and beds include home clinics and vets. LINE UP A HOSPITAL before even leaving the USA as a precaution.

These comments have been taken out of context and blown out of portion. WHO doctor is saying lockdowns should be an emergency situation—to buy time for hospitals and local governments when case are spiking out of control. Lockdowns should not be the PRIMARY method of combatting the virus. In the United States, they haven’t been. But then again, we’ve done a lousy job of battling COVID.
It is about time that we realize that trying to hide an entire country from a virus by shutting down businesses and sitting at home was never going to be an effective approach.
"Lousy" is what lawyers call a "squishy" word, meaning that it's not, due to it's nature, very objectively descritpive. Has anyone checked how Sweden is doing with their... I guess we could call it a "non-response?" I've not heard that everyone in Sweden died, or that their hospital system collapsed, nothing. Of course, if everyone Did die, I guess I'd not have done so, right? Seriously though, Sweden was doing the total lack of controls and going with herd immunity at what I'll call the outset, maybe March to April? Then, I never heard anything about it/them. According to the USA having by far the most casualties. Ask most people down here in MX, and they don't want Americans to come here. Some businesses won't even serve Americans. Itll take far less time for you to join local Facebook groups that dont cater to expats to see the overwhelming sentiment against Americans right now. But, they depend on tourism dollars to eat.
