Going to Cancun for the first time with the wife in just over a week. We aren't really sure what to do moneywise. We are doing an all inclusive resort, and are doing a few tours that are all inclusive. So a lot of things are taken care of, But we have no clue as to what to do as far as tips, like how much and how often. Also.. are we fine bringing just US dollars for any extras like souvenirs and other of site activities? If we convert some to Pesos is it better to do it BEFORE we leave the US? Obviously we are new to travelling out of the country so any help is appreciated...lol

From an experienced traveler: US dollars will take you far in Cancun or in almost any country around the world for this matter.
You tip as much and as often as you feel the service is worth it. I have had tips ranging from $1 to $300. Yes, $300 TIP. But that was an all-day individual extreme tour to Sian Ka'an.
US dollars will be perfectly fine for your souvenirs and extra activities on and off site especially in Cancun.
You may want to convert some dollars into pesos but in this case it is better to do it in Cancun.
Moreover stores in Cancun will give you better exchange rate than banks.

    Enjoy Cancun and Mexico.
