    i'm staying at a place that is NOT all inclusive for a week.. and i'm doing $365 worth of excursions (chichen itza, dolphin swim, zipline, booze cruise) i also plan on going to one club a night.. and eating at decent places - carlos n charlies, senor frogs, margaritaville, etc.. how much should i bring?

    I don't intend to take my card with me so cash it is. How secure are the safes? or will I have to be hiding the cash in my suitcase with a big pad lock on there?
    Obviously I will not be rolling around with it all.

    I don't trust any hotel staff that much.

    If it disappears, it's your word against the hotel & police... and you will lose that one.

    I cannot comment on the Tucancun safes, however...

    OK. Last year was fine, but that was a different hotel. I will have to weight up my options.
