For you first timers, I think this recent TripAdvisor review completely nails the resort! Although I think you could disregard the airport transfers comments and book your round trip private transfers through USA Transfers. “Honest review from 1st timers” Reviewed yesterday NEW My wife and I spent April 5-9 at Temptation Resort and then another 3 days at the Hard Rock because Temptation was booked up over the weekend. We spent a ton of time reading various reviews before booking so we wanted to give you the skinny on our trip: Overall - We had a ton of fun and met a lot of great people. The staff is super friendly and the food is really good. The beds are hard and the rooms are older and need of renovation, but we had so much fun that we can look past it. Read on for more detail about our first time experience at Temptation... Transportation - Getting from the airport to the hotel was not fun ($20 and took a shuttle). Getting back was a breeze ($20 and took a cab). Pay with Pesos and our cab ride went from $25 US to $20. We had to wait 30 minutes until the shuttle was ready and then it stopped at lots of hotels to drop others off first. What a pain in the butt and a big waste of time. It's basically the same price, so just grab a cab, pay with Pesos and you'll be really happy...trust me. Checkin - Checking in early isn't really an option so expect to get your room close to 3pm. After an easy checkin, we got escorted by Lucy to hear about the hotel and set up a time to meet for an hour the next day to learn about becoming "premium members". We simply said no (2 or 3 times lol) and that was that. Lucy was very nice and we didn't get bothered again. In all fairness, the Hard Rock Hotel also did the premium up-sell thing upon checkin. Room Location - After all the reviews we read about late night partying and staying away from the Paty'O Lounge area, we requested a quiet room and ended up in room 5711. Great move! We could party as late as we wanted and had NO noise when we went back to our room. You'll see what I mean once you get to the hotel. I can't imagine having a room right above the party area. We drank all day and night so when we went back to the room we wanted to be able to sleep. Room - If there was anything negative about this hotel it was the room. At the Hard Rock we got a large, beautiful room with a super comfy bed, 2 sinks, jacuzzi and ocean view. Temptation rooms are older and just need a facelift. One review I just read said "big comfortable bed". I can tell you that our bed was hard, the room was humid, the bathroom is small and the water never got really hot in the shower. Food - Since we stayed at Temptation and Hard Rock we got the chance to compare the food. We figured Hard Rock would blow away Temptation's food but we were wrong. Believe it or not we thought the food was better at Temptation. The restaurants at Temptation are great and the buffet was better and had a bigger selection too. Service and Staff - One word, awesome! The staff is super friendly here and they take pride in keeping everything clean and well maintained. We just can't say enough good things about everyone that works for Temptation Resort. Guests and Socializing - This is where Temptation Resort shines. My wife and I are not swingers. We're just fun, non-judgemental people who want to have a good time with awesome people. We went to the "sexy pool" as soon as we got to the hotel and within 15 minutes of being there we met four couples. By the end of the second day we met so many people that we were having trouble remembering all of their names. It's not like they just say hi and move on, we hung out with everyone during the day and then partied with them at night. Everyone was so friendly, sociable and fun, and yes a little wild that it was by far our favorite vacation of all time. We ended up making some new friends and we can't wait to see them there again next year. Just to put it in perspective, we spent 3 days at the Hard Rock right after and we didn't meet one person. Other - After staying at Temptation and then going to the Hard Rock we both walked into the Hard Rock with such wide eyes. The place reminded us a little of Vegas in that the hotel is really cool and hip. BUT, after one day we really missed being at Temptation. In addition to the great time we had, Temptation feels more like a Caribbean Island resort. We really enjoyed the layout and relaxing "island" feel vs Hard Rock's "hotel" feel. Plus the beach at Temptation is awesome. Lots of seaweed, but they rake it up daily. The water was wave free, super warm and beautiful to say the least. We can consolidate some of the Dos Equis from our rooms, put 'em on ice, order some pizza, put on some tunes and chill in one of many grassy areas at the resort! We can set a tentative time of 6pm and take it from there! Monday October 10 - Resort theme: Brazilian Batucada Resort dress code: As you wish. CCC theme: Men's Dress Shirt and Stilettos Night. OK ladies, most every guy’s fantasy is to see a woman in some high heels that say “@%&k me” all over them and just a gentleman's dress shirt, either from the office affair, or walk of shame, one night stand, cougar teacher or professor! Guys - channel your best Tom Cruise in "Risky Business"! Tuesday October 11 - CCC Day Theme at the Sexy Pool: PINK OUT DAY Group photos at our beach and at the CANCUN sign! Resort theme: Rock Star Resort dress code: Sexy rock star. CCC theme: Neon/Glow/Rave but think 80's party in the Valley! For sure, for sure! Gals: Your best Cyndi Lauper, Go-Go's, colorful, bright, animal prints, neon ankle warmers. Guys: Flock of Seagulls, neon mohawks, spiked hair, bight, colorful and crazy! *NOTE: Wear a Tu-Tu and get unlimited free shots all night long! Let's unofficially call it Tu-Tu-Tuesday! Wednesday October 12 - Resort theme: Strip sensation. Resort dress code: Sexy latex outfit. CCC theme: BDSM meets Fantasy Fetish Night! Leather, Lace, Latex, Police, Fire, Military, Schoolgirl, Nurse, Doctor! It's YOUR fantasy! Accessorize with Whips, Cuffs, Crops! Thursday October 13 - Resort theme: lingerie Fantasy Casino. Resort dress code: Sexy lingerie. CCC theme: Begin the night with a room crawl and finish up at Paty'Os in your sexiest lingerie accented with a Mardi Gras twist. Feather masks and Mardi Gras bead necklaces to make it a sexy NOLA party! Guys in novelty briefs or boxers! Friday October 14 - Resort theme: Bacchanal Party. Resort dress code: Hot white outfit. CCC theme: Gals in your sexiest, skimpiest or sheer white outfit! Men just try and keep up with your smokin' hot lady by wearing white linens. Pants or shorts. Saturday October 15 - Resort theme: Fancy Temptation. Resort dress code: Sexy in red and black. CCC theme: Ladies wear your most seductive red outfit. Guys dress in predominantly black with red accents. Sunday October 16 - Resort theme: Anything goes. Resort dress code: Comfortable and casual. CCC theme: On this night the ladies get to wear that drop dead sexy outfit that just doesn't fit with any traditional theme nights, but you are dying to wear it? Guys, just make room for our ladies to strut their sexiness! Monday October 17 - Resort theme: Brazilian Batucada Resort dress code: As you wish. CCC theme: Neon/Glow/Rave Night. No need to mimic a rock star on this night! Just come ready to party and dance until the wee hours! LOL The repeat offenders in mid-October are quite a fun group with a broad age range! Everyone seems to do the resort in their own way, but the one thing we all have in common is partying at Paty'Os! Theme night participation is pretty damn good considering it is not high season at the resort. Welcome to the 'Wedgies'! I'm confident you will have a great time! -Joe-
