Here's how I quit. Last year the wife and I took a 2 week trip to the Maldives. We were on a tiny island in the middle if the Indian ocean. Day 1 following some drinks i jumped into the ocean with my vape in my pocket. I went 2 weeks without it and figured i might as well give it up. Vacation could very well be the best time to quit permanently...
Last month my co-worker's wife had a vape at customs (into Mexico), she was told it was nice and asked how much she paid for it, she said $20. They then charged her $140 but she got to keep it. She tried to throw it away but the custom official said it was too late. The custom official said something about 700% tariff on imported vapes from the US.
Do you know if she had it hidden/packed or was it easily accessible, like in a jacket pocket? I wonder if they will take the time to search through your belongings or if the dogs can sniff these out? It's interesting that you are not necessarily forbidden to USE vapes, but forbidden to bring them into the country, regardless of the quantity or intention. As the article in @yexian's post mentioned, Mexico has vending machines that sell vapes. I know I've seen one in the Hotel Zone, near La Vaquita. (Wouldn't the authorities crack down on these vending machines out in the open if thee vapes are illegal?)
FYI, we just got back on 5/29, the resort is still selling them in the vending machines and gift shop.
