I have to agree. Downtown is a bit more intimidating than it once was but we have found many great places to eat, drink, and be entertained, on Ave. Yaxchilan and downtown.

Definitely hit Casa De Los Margaritas! We went there one afternoon for drinks and app's. The atmosphere is great - the place is all done out like a Mexican Villa with a central courtyard. I believe there is entertainment there nightly. The Margaritas were very good. I don't know what the dinners are like, but the app's were huge and very good. Prices were pretty reasonable by what I remember.

My boyfriend and I are going from the 23rd to the 30th. 18 more days!
