Profeco is the organization charged with protecting the rights of people who do not live in Mexico and acquire any product or service from a Mexican supplier and are not satisfied with the good or service.

This is a totally free service and does not require the presence of
    the consumer in the procedure.

The complaint can be submitted in any Profeco office, Embassy,
Consulate or any other official representation. The Profeco address
is Av. José Vasconcelos No. 208, 6º Piso, Col. Condesa, México D. F.
    C.P. 06140

The information you must submit is: your name, complete address,
telephone and fax numbers, and office hours for contact; supplier´s
name and address; a short letter explaining exactly what the reason
of the complaint is and the amount requested; copies of all
documents as evidence of the transactions, and all other available
    documents to support the claim.

For further information you can contact us at the following numbers:
    55-68-87-22; 01-800-468-87-22 or E-mail: extranjeros@profeco.gob.mx

You have to dial 011-52 before the number if you call from the US.

Useful post Nao but I must add that Profeco is not just for people who do not live in Mexico, it also looks after us locals too.

In fact, we (well Jannet) just won a case yesterday at Profeco and got our money back from some scammy opticians regarding contact lenses Jannet bought that were not made to prescription and they refused to exchange ("don't worry your eyes will adapt to them.... it's just like wearing a new pair of jeans").

The company owner had to fly in from DF especially for the hearing or face a fine and possible closure since the local staff refused to resolve the matter.

Thank you VERY much I will be contacting them next week. Hopefully they can help us! I will post the results but I am sure it will take awhile to resolve.

    Nao is it?
A voice from the past indeed.
(We know how to proxy of course, but why bother?)
So, how do you like the new look?

Steve, could you tell us with whom you have had a bad experience? And the other posters too? We would better avoid them, we don't need more headaches and loss of energy. And the good ones....

THAT would be very useful about living in Cancun :D
