Useful post Nao but I must add that Profeco is not just for people who do not live in Mexico, it also looks after us locals too. In fact, we (well Jannet) just won a case yesterday at Profeco and got our money back from some scammy opticians regarding contact lenses Jannet bought that were not made to prescription and they refused to exchange ("don't worry your eyes will adapt to them.... it's just like wearing a new pair of jeans"). The company owner had to fly in from DF especially for the hearing or face a fine and possible closure since the local staff refused to resolve the matter.
   I'm glad that you guys were able to get that settled! What a nightmare... or could've been!
Thank you VERY much I will be contacting them next week. Hopefully they can help us! I will post the results but I am sure it will take awhile to resolve.
Nao is it? A voice from the past indeed. (We know how to proxy of course, but why bother?) So, how do you like the new look?
Steve, could you tell us with whom you have had a bad experience? And the other posters too? We would better avoid them, we don't need more headaches and loss of energy. And the good ones.... THAT would be very useful about living in Cancun
