This thread is seriously making me ponder getting a Borat bathing suit in bright yellow and try, try, to keep a straight face as I walk to the pool.
that is something I cannot pull not that I would be feeling awkward but I cannot keep a straight face without laughing...it is some skill
It seems to that the overall perspective and general attitude towards men's swimwear has changed over the past couple of years, at least for the TTR going folks. In the past there was a huge double standard. Case in point. If a woman posted something to the effect of "Should I wear a thong?" or "Should I go topless?" It didn't matter size, shape or age, it was an outpouring of... yes, no one knows you, do what makes you feel comfortable, etc... where if a man did the same it was just the opposite reaction and no such support for those that wanted to do something a little more daring. It was board shorts or gross. Now it seems that a lot more men are willing to go a little as they dare and there is more support for such men. Maybe I'm off, but that seems to be my perspective. No board shorts for me on our trip, and I'm sure there will be a thong on at least once. :daveandmo:
My 1st trip to TTR (Nov 2014) I saw majority board shorts, but also saw more guys in thongs, bikini-style speedo, square-cuts than I expected. Didn't see any man-kinis. No one really cares, so do what makes you happy. See you in May !
Sorry, but thongs on men are just not attractive. That being said, it's YOUR vacation so you should wear whatever the heck you want to wear and not worry about what others think. While I expect that I may see things that I consider less than attractive, I do not think I have the right to make any comments, gestures/faces, or anything construed as negative towards that person. Enjoy your trip and above all HAVE FUN!
