Theme nights are completely optional with the exception on lingerie Night, but even that is "kind of optional". The resort puts on a casino night in one of the onsite gathering rooms on lingerie Night. To get into Nice Shoes, the room that hosts casino night, all patrons are required to be wearing lingerie to get in. Casino night in Nice Shoes only lasts about 2 hours and then everyone heads out to Paty-O's where theme night costumes are not required. So basically the only theme night that is required is lingerie night and that is only if you want to get into Nice Shoes for about 2 hours for Casino Night. All other theme nights are completely optional. We were at TTR in Aug this year. We purchased theme outfits for each night during our stay however, with the exception of lingerie night, there was absolutely no theme participation during our stay. We hope there will be more participation this New Years when we return as we are looking forward to wearing our outfits.
I sure hope there's good participation next week. We spent a metric crap-ton on costumes, since that was our favorite part of DRM last year.
One more question....Does everyone typically dress regular for dinner and then go back to the room and change before going out?
For the most part, yes. However...If it's white night, and you plan to wear a sexy white dress...then you could probably wear that to dinner and also to Paty O's. On something like lingerie night or men's white shirt night...then change into that theme after dinner. You'll know if your night's outfit seems like dinner attire or not.
Thanks Tim and Brenda...and other posters. Got it...was kind of hoping for a crazy costume night as my "see through curtains" costume would be so light and easy to pack. Oh, well I'll wear what I wish then.
