We'd like to hear more too once you've gone through the pitch. We've been to TTR a couple times now and it's hard to beat the value (key word) for an adults only AI resort with a great party atmosphere. So right now, it's worth every penny. If prices start to creep up towards the cost of Desire, we'll definitely have to look at other options.
Go on a referral , go to the meeting, and get all the info you need , it changes all the time , and with upcoming reno,s a lot of new info , some are not ware of .
Abbott: Strange as it may seem, they give CCC users nowadays very peculiar names. Costello: Funny names? Abbott: Nicknames, nicknames. Now, on the SexyPool team we have ScubaSteve on first, What's on second, I Don't Know is on third-- Costello: That's what I want to find out. I want you to tell me the names of the fellows on the SexyPool team. Abbott: I'm telling you. ScubaSteve's on first, What's on second, I Don't Know is on third-- Costello: You know the fellows' names? Abbott: Yes. Costello: Well, then who's playing first? Abbott: ScubaSteve. Costello: I mean the fellow's name on first base. Abbott: ScubaSteve. Costello: The fellow playin' first base. Abbott: ScubaSteve. Costello: The guy on first base. Abbott: ScubaSteve is on first. Costello: Well, what are you askin' me for? Abbott: I'm not asking you--I'm telling you. ScubaSteve is on first. Costello: I'm asking you--ScubaSteve on first? Abbott: That's the man's name. Costello: That's ScubaSteve's name? Abbott: Yes. Costello: Well, I guess I know who Steve is now. He is the one who started this thread.
Bottom line is you won't. We also bought used, and the contract we bought had 4 free weeks tied to it. If we use those 4 free weeks, we'll get more value than what we paid for our contract. Never mind the 175 member nights we get. Now here's the kicker. No matter when we go, our price will be the same. We actually wanted to go over new years eve 2016, but the non-member price (and expedia, and everyone else) was $500/night. If we had already been members already, it would have been $188/night. If you plan to travel during those types of holiday times when it's very booked up, you'll save. Also, if you're a last minute planner, it can help there too as the prices tend to increase quite a bit the closer to the date you get.
The last post explained more than most. I would still like to see a price comparison. Kristinanddoug, you are a strange man!
Referrals are one of the benefits and are mutually beneficial to both parties. They are part of the "exactly what did you save" equation. One of the benefits members receive are free room upgrades which must be factored in to a package price. Spa discounts as well as gift shop discounts need to be factored in to your package price as well as free wifi. We are going for 7 nights which earns 2 free lobster dinners, (more savings) in July and are members, we paid roughly 1600.00 hotel and airfare including our pro rated upfront costs. That same trip on Expedia with the room upgrade right now is 3182.00. 3182.00-1600.00=1582.00 in savings. Thats why for some of us the membership makes sense. We bought our membership from someone selling theirs so our savings are a little better than someone who bought their membership directly from the resort. Not trying to be a smart a** just giving you an answer with savings as you requested. Memberships are not for everyone, for us due to what we got ours for makes it beneficial for us.
After going this May, our 4th trip as members, we will have made back 77% of our initial investment in savings booking as members versus whatever the best deal was out there at the time we booked. We purchased 175 nights and will have 148 nights left after this trip. Also members get 25% of the best advertised deal at the Desire resorts, if you are one to go there, those savings can add up fast. I've kept a spreadsheet with formulas which keeps track of our savings, nights used, initial investment and what we paid every year etc...
Our savings are very close to yours. We have made back over 3/4 of our initial investment in 13 months and have only used 14 of our 175 nights. Our investment will be paid off as soon as we go back when they reopen after the rebuild. And with the rebuild our savings will be even more as we are somewhat locked into rate increases for the rooms, where as non members will certainly face a higher price increase than we will, which is one of the big reasons why we bought the membership knowing the rebuild was on the horizon, it was an investment in our future, like buying a penny stock that tripled in price.
