I always bring back a couple packs of antibiotics. I put them in my toiletries bag and have never been questioned. I can't say for sure, but as long as you appear to have them for your personal use, I don't think they would say anything. There is a pharmacia at the airport waiting area by duty free selling everything from antibiotics to viagra, so you most likely won't be the only one bringing back stuff.

Check expiration dates carefully. Some of the medications we've bought down here are dated considerably shorter than the identical product from the same manufacturer stateside. I've discussed this with some friends in the "business" and the only guess is that it may have to do with the expectation of improper storage, both pre- and post-sale.

And while in some cases expiration dates can be fudged, other medications can cause serious problems if used too far beyond the expiration.

    Diabetes

I have type 1 diabetes since this spring.

Was wondering about testing supplies. Insulin pens, needles, lancets.
Even with good insurance it's pricy. Any idea about the availability?

I would also check around a bit for pricing. Was surprised to find that the pharmacia at WalMart and Chedraui were 3x higher than the local pharmacia a few stores away from the Chedraui.
