I have never understood why someone will pay $50 to check a bag, $10-15 for tips to the cabs and bellhops and pay out $75 dollars for a meal at one of the better restaurants in town .......but wont shell out $50 for travel insurance. Is that dumb or what ?

A few years ago my wife had a seizure on our last day in Vegas. There was no drugs or even alcohol involved. Ambulance to the emergency room, lots of test including a spinal tap to check for meningitis, came up negative. Released the next day with a severe "post lumbar puncture headache" (if you have never heard of that, look it up). She had a miserable 4 hour flight home in severe pain. That was her one and only seizure, and they never did figure out what caused it.

We did not buy the medical insurance. We were lucky enough that my husbands medical insurance covers us 100% for travel. However if it didn't there would be no way I would go without it!!

a couple years ago I feel down one step while drunk and the next Mornin could not walk , hotel doctor wrapped the bad ankle charged £100 told me not to walk on it ( dinner and room was all up stairs so paul had to half carry me) also had to have about £20 tablets for the pain. back in England found out I had torn my ligiment in my ankle. took years to heal because I had to put pressure on it for the last week of my holiday . travel insurance covered all costs minus £50 excess .

The same thing would have happened to me if I were forced to sit thru a Cher concert.
