On our first trip to Cancun we found a post on this site about bringing toys for the kids down there. We really loved the idea and have done it every time we've been. I know there's a ton of other people that would love to give back so I thought I'd post it here. We'd like to encourage everyone to bring some toys and school supplies to Cancun and drop them off at either the Hard Rock Cafe or the Needful Things bookstore on Avenida Coba in the center of town near Walmart. If you're thinking that it would cost too much to buy toys for the kids, we get our stuff at the dollar store to maximize the stuff we can get. Try to avoid anything with batteries. The simple stuff is the best. For school supplies we tend to get some notebooks, pens, pencils and markers. stuff like that. Nancy, one of the organizers, stops by every two weeks or so to collect what has been dropped off. Okay, I have updated the list. It continues to grow. Looks like a great crowd and even more fun. We are still coming even though we may be slow. As I posted in the Boobs Cruise post, we have had some setbacks. I had to have shoulder surgery a couple of weeks ago. Then Cherri fell and injured her knee the next week and had reconstruction surgery last week. So, we'll be the drunk cripples hobbling around the sexy pool. We are so ready for this party.
