Great information here guys, thanks for posting. We’ve got the MS booked for a 40th birthday in January, and a MS for our Anniversary in July. Can’t wait!!!

What is the cost difference between the trendy garden and a master suite?
Can you just buy it at the hotel when you get there?
We have premier sorted out, hoping for a room upgrade :)

It depends where you look. The resort rack rates for master are usually close to $800 a night. The resort rack rate for trendy garden really seems to vary. Maybe $350ish? Now the other variable is there are specials offered that reduce those rates and third party sites tend to have even lower rates. Also keep in mind supply vs demand is a big part of the equation as there are only 6 master suites. So given all of that here is our experience...

First visit we booked a Lush tower suite and we got upgraded to a master for free. This is unique though as the Lush rooms were not ready yet at the opening.

Second visit we booked a Bash tower room via a referral that if I recall correctly cost us $400 a night or a little less. Upon arrival we asked to be upgraded. They came back with ok our rate for master is $800 and since you paid $400 for a Bash (it was a reduced rate due to the members contract) then you can upgrade to a master for $400 a night ($800 - $400) which was bullish!t as they were basically trying to charge us full price for the master. I have to go back to our trip report for exact amounts but I believe I negotiated that down to $200 a night. To get it that low though I had to ask to talk to the front desk manager who remembered me from the opening when they had many issues. So not sure if we got a special rate or that can be done for others.

Third visit we actually booked a master for $500something on a discount site (note I cant find these rates anywhere for dates we are looking for in March or April 2019). Then when we arrived we asked to be upgraded to a penthouse and they did the same thing... rack rate penthouse $1700 (at the time it was $1700, now on their website they show $3000 AMAZING) - $500 we paid for master = $1200 a night. I said crazy and proceeded to explain to them why. It was disappointing as we had planned to have a big party so I wanted the Penthouse bad. Our butler took us to the room and it was one of the 2 second floor masters which have a worse view and smaller balcony. So I told him how I wish I could get the penthouse due to the party, etc and he said he was going out with the person in charge, radioed down and next thing you knew it we were moving to the penthouse. I cant recall what we landed on exactly for that upgrade. Will have to go back and read my trip report from April.

My memory stinks. Here is how it went down straight from our trip report from April...

countered with final offer of $250 a night and she said she would have to check with management and let us know when we returned in 2 hours for our room. When I returned I was told their final offer was $500 a night and they know I only paid $500 for the master so they couldn’t discount it. I explained what I paid for the master already is immaterial to the discussion of moving from a master to a penthouse as I am already in the master regardless of what we do here. They disagreed. I then started working with the butler on the party details for the following night and explained if there is anything he can do to get us in one of the larger masters I would show my appreciation. He then escorted us to the room where it was explained to me all the other masters are closed for several days for fixes due to issues with the blinds and AC so there was basically zero to no chance we could get into a higher floor one. He asked if I decided to not do the $250 a night deal and I said no they didn’t accept and tried $500 again. He texted someone and next thing you know it we received a call from the premier desk and were moving to the penthouse :) for $250 extra a night.

We stayed in the Oceanfront mastersuite last week. It’s pink band now and you get access to premier beach and pool areas . Since you have access to the premier poolside bar, I suppose that has better brands. We weren’t bothered as we drink little!

The butlers are very good and helpful but can be difficult to get hold of. You call the guest services and they radio the butler, etc.

Temptation generally has a problem answering calls - front desk, bell desk, concierge, guest services rarely answer your first call.

That’s about the only gripe we had. Otherwise the hotel and atmosphere is awesome

It seems like there's some confusion and mixed results even here on CCC. We are in a master Feb 19-26 and paid about $100 per night extra for the difference in the amenities. Specifically we are looking forward to the butler services, Sky access, bluetooth sound system in room, and a few others. It would be great if this also included access to premier seating and liquor, but I understand if it doesn't. However, I expect to get the other things. I will report back in this thread with the outcome.

Either way you will love the Master. Our favorite room. And we have stayed in the Penthouse too but didn’t think that was worth the extra cost where we thought the master was. Big step up from Lush or Bash.

Master Suite is an awesome room, as long as you aren't right on top of Bash- then it's annoying the nights you need to turn in early.

Thank you for the tip. I thought this would be great for our upcoming trip in July but then quickly noticed our dates are also July 13-20. Do you have a recommendation for your second favorite master suite. This will be our 6th trip and we will be returning with a couple we met previously. The extra room and the hot tub caught our attention.
