The maids make sure you have 2 waters, beer, coke.....but what we figured out is that if there is still a partial water left out they didn't replace it. So by the end of the trip I started to hide the water we had left so they would restock. That way we had plenty of water etc...for the rest of the day/evening.

Last early October, we would leave a note with the daily tip asking for more water and the maid left a big jug of water the first couple of days, but by the middle of the week, she left a pre-printed note that basically said the jug of water was a courtesy and if we wanted more, we would have to pay for them. We'll try the hiding technique in September!

I did that with the Dos Equis and had a few leftover at the end of the week (had a couple on the ride to airport and left the rest for the driver). I even hid the V8 and left note in spanish(with the tip) for more beer but still got another V8.

We did the same, just requesting 1 extra water a day and only 1 day did we not receive the extra water. I think the fact that they never had to replace the V8's or pops helped them realize that we were only looking to re-hydrate.

I am a type 1 diabetic. An insulin pump makes a huge difference in an environment like temptations as you can quickly adjust by turning off the insulin drip if you skip a meal or are really active or you can take extra insulin if you have some sugary shots.

Nice that u could still make temptations with you daughter being a diabetic. I guess the camp was experienced with the shots? My daughter was recently diagnosed (she is only 4) and we postponed our next visit because of it. Highly recommend a pump if you are tired of the shots. Will get one for my daughter once she can do the math of counting carbs.

As for the shot question for a passed out diabetic. You do want to give them a shot but the shot is s glucagon shot which will ONLY be in a red container that says glucagon on it. Like pointed out above you never want to give them a shot of insulin or try to force food/drink in their mouth. If they are conscious then high carb food/oj works. Sorry for the serious topic. Just thought it was important to clarify as it is a life death thing for a diabetic.
