"Deb, you might want to put that announcement about the need to speed up the bookings for MTLBC in it's own thread so it jumps out at people. Just an idea, knowing how boards work.

Question/concern (easily remedied): No liquor store nearby? That is a potential issue, for sure. How will us early arrivers be able to stock up for shots and drinks in the room? Montreal people already have this solved of course, even if they don't drive, so what sort of plan is best to make? Ask uber driver to take you to a liquor store? Get it on the cab ride from the airport. Shoot, can you uber from the airport?

I mean, all I need is 2, make it 3 handle bottles (1.75L) of Fireball (it IS sold in Montreal, right?), a bottle of Don Julio Silver (or comparable, Tequila snobs know), a bottle of gray goose, a bottle of Crown Royal or Elijah Craig or Angels Envy Rye or Jamison or....

    You get the picture.

Better to Have and Not Need than to Need and Not Have!"

    Hi John,

I agree that the cheapest way is duty free. You will both be allowed to bring 1.14 litre into Canada (1 bottle each). The SAQ is where we buy hard liquor, you can check out their inventory on the web site and it will tell you which stores have the products you are looking for.
    Wines, alcohols & spirits | SAQ.com

I know they carry fireball (but only upto 1.14 litres) I buy it all the time, as well as Rhum Chata. Crown Royal is made in Canada so it is cheap and plentiful here. Also no problem for the Grey goose.
I would bring the tequila with you as there aren't many choices here.
I believe they have a delivery service as well, if you purchase in advance.. possibly just have delivered to the hotel or the nearest store?

There is a corner store across from the club open 24 hours, it sells beer and wine but by law can't sell between the hours of 11pm-8am.

    SAQ and AroundMe

Once again download the AroundMe app. Search SAQ for liquor and good wine. Search depanneur for beer and shitty wine! A depanneur is a convenience store. Beer is not sold at the SAQ stores and liquor is not sold at the depanneurs.

Yes the club sells all the mixers and you're not allowed to bring them in. They have everything: water, sparkling water, mineral water, etc... sodas, juices, energy drinks, gatorade... pretty much everything you would want for a 2-4$. They will provide all the ice, cups but it might be a good idea to bring your own bubba mug and/or cooler.

Do they accept credit cards for the sodas/water, or is it cash only?

I think it would be helpful to post this info in the Facebook event as well... I would hate to see someone go out and purchase mix and bring it to the club to have to toss it in the garbage. Is it possible to get a list from the club as to what types of mix they have? I'm sure I'm not the only one but I've never been to a BYOB club.

I totally agree Nikki, and I will. Within the next few weeks a lot of information will be posted here and on the facebook page. I will make a list on the weekend of available mixers and if people have suggestions I am open to bringing a list to the club owner. For now... if it's non-alcoholic... don't bring it! :):wink3:

    Last tip.

If 2 couples are arriving within a few hours from each other it might be a good idea to rent a car together. Hotel has free parking so it would be well worth it. Even if you are just 2 people look into it. If car rental is 150 or less definitely do it.
