We agree with redrum. We have thought about the RCI thing and it was always cheaper just to by a standard AI package. We have been in different sections each time and have never had a room we were not delighted with. It is COMPLETELY safe. Getting quite sick of the media giving Mexico such a bad rap! I read that same review on Tripadvisor you are speaking about and reported it actually as inappropriate. They DO NOT represent the true attitude of TTR guests and I found that VERY rude and degrading. This is a 5th trip and the first time we were deciding to go I was nervous that it was only for hard bodies and silicone. Because we are neither! But as soon as you get to the pool you realise how welcoming and unjudgemental everyone is. There are all shapes, sizes, ages and everyone is there to have fun. There are many swingers but again we have never experienced it the five times we were there. We are not swingers but we love to have some sexy fun and have never felt uncomfortable. Late night eats? Grill at PatyO's. Burgers fries hotdogs etc. Great after a night of drinking and dancing!
I would assume you get the benifits going though RCI, but I'm not sure. Here are the useful benefits of being a member. The biggest benefit is better alcohol. I like the member beer more than dos xx and the pool service. Once you tip the premier pool server a few bucks he will come find you and bring you drinks whether you are at the pool or beach. • 1(one)Lobster Dinner for a minimum of 6th nights stay • Beverages service in beach area • Premier Menu in speciality restaurants (1-2 additional choices) • Wireless Internet Service in specific areas • Room Service for Breakfast • Use of bathrobes and slippers • Exclusive Beach Area • 20 mins sauna, steam room or jacuzzi included at our Spa daily • 25% Off in Spa services
Q1: "My wife and I are planning to visit and I have some questions:" A1: Awesome, you'll have a great time at TTR! Q2: "Any benneefits to book via RCI exchange vs cash booking? A2: No clue, we book differently. Q4: "I saw a stickey with nightly club outings, are these still in effect?" A4: There's almost always something going on, and you can usually find a group going, but the last two times we've been to TTR the "organized" outings to the big clubs were down. But, we may have just missed them. Try to catch one of the Boobs Cruises when you are at TTR, that's a blast, and if a trip gets going to Carlos & Charlies and/or Senor Frogs, do that, too. We skip the huge clubs like City & Coco Bongo, because we like more intimate settings which are just as loud and party-ful, drunken girl sgetting drunk and dancing topless and/or naked on the bar, etc. Just our preference. And, we like to be back in the resort hitting it when most folks aare still at The City trying to figure out who they are going to attempt to hit on. You shouldn't have that problem. Q5: "Is it safe?" A5: TTR? Yes. Note, use common sense as no one knows exactly who might be around on any given day anywhere. There are bad people where you live, where I live, and they do end up going on vacation, too. Common sense stops most bad situations before they start. See the "unattended" thread. Q6: "Is this a swingers only resort? We like to have fun but that is not our thing. (not that I care just not for us)" A6: Nope. You may meet a few folks who do that sort of thing, not us either. But, for the most part, it's a no. Except during a takeover week, then maybe you could say it is a swinger resort. Keep this in mind, No always means no, even to swingers. it's not as if they just carry you away or something like that. Actually a very fun, friendly crowd and open, and respectful of boundaries. Q7: "What are the room types with RCI? What views?" A7: No clue about that with RCI, butthe rooms are the junior sweet with garden view, ocean view, and the jacuzzi suite (I think that's it). THere may be hyper-upgraded room types I don't know of, sorry. Q8: "Any late night food?" A8: You've not lived until you've had the Patio burger at 3:35 a.m.! Q9: "Will people a bit larger feel accepted? Not huge but not skinny, I saw a review complaining about "fat ugly people ruining our vacation" I want to finf a place to relax and not feel judged. It is hard to feel that way at many places but people make the difference." A9: You saw someone being an idiot on a review, so they were probably an idiot in their normal life as well. Feel good you aren't them. There are ALL sorts of folks at TTR, in various stages of dress and undress, and nobody knows thm and nobody gives a sh*t (that's the TTR motto by the way, learn it, love it, live it -- sorry, wife is an ex-cheerleader). Just go, feel comfortable in yourself and have a reat time. Smile and laugh, and the people will bring you in has been our experience. Q10: "Sorry for the long list but thanks for any help!" A10: No problem. We were 1st timers too once (May 2007).
