That's not factual and I didn't say it. From the US Dept of State Website: "To obtain a passport for the first time, you need to go in person to one of 7,000 passport acceptance facilities located throughout the United States with two photographs of yourself, proof of U.S. citizenship, and a valid form of photo identification such as a driver’s license." This means your identity is verified in person....
I'm sure we can post links back and forth all day trying to show whose country is more secure, but I don't think this is the place for it.
The only point being here is that statements made without basis can be misleading to others in the first place. BTW - I'm only trying to state the facts and not single anyone out here.
I think what she was saying that we have to go down to some government building to verify our identity and everything too. But prior to that we have to get someone like a doctor to verify our identity on our application. We can't just show up at an office with a bunch of documentation and get a passport. There are other steps we have to take.
No problem. Like I said, I'm interested in the facts to help those that need to apply for their passports for the first time...
