I lost some pics on the recipe and mexican events section which I need to fix, and a last minute decision in changing the structure means that some of the hotel and tour links may not work if clicked from a different section of the site, so if you spot one let me know.
Just read your blog post, that's a very interesting observation and I think you could well have been right, had things taken a different turn. As for La Boom, as mentioned on the site, it is my all time favourite Cancun club. It was a shame to see it go. I can probably say it here but not on the main web site. Wilma was just an excuse to close down and get some insurance money. The club had been losing money for years and there was no damage to speak of from Wilma. The staff were called in a day or two after to pour sea water on the electrics and smash the lighting systems and alcohol inventory. The insurance assessor looked on while being entertained with a huge magnum of best quality champagne.
It is a shame. It was a favorite of mine as well. I remember being told it was a new club that had just opened when I went there for the very first time in 1985. It went through a lot changes, but I thought that's what kept it good. They always seemed to be on top of the trends. So sad. And I never even got to see the bus everyone is always talking about.
