I tend to grab our loungers by the pool first thing in the morning where I like to enjoy the morning sunshine with a coffee avec coffee liqueur (do they have coffee liqueur or Baileys there!) We usually give the loungers up just before noon or so and head to the gym and then the beach. At Blue Bay in the Dominican the 'party' at the pool tended to really get going at around 2 or 3 p.m. so we'd usually head back poolside around then. Rarely were we able to find a lounger at that time of day but, as was previously said, there's always the pool bar where you can catch up on anything you may have missed!:umbrella1:
I learned after a few trips that I was never going to get a chair lol... so I decided to get a room right next to them, luckily as a member and after going for years and years I am pretty much every year able to get the ground floor room, between the sexy pool and the beach... great to lounge on the patio and also.... *note to anyone going same time as me---- people have found my room great for putting their stuff in during the day or just on the patio, Also for their last morning, they can put their suitcases in my room and enjoy the beach and pool and long as possible before heading to the airport...... so if you see me down there, feel free ....
Chairgate I for one would 'never' have the balls to move someones property - but if you assume I am a real wimp:schlafen004::doh: - try moving mine!
Whoaaa... deep breath Sparkey! I think we all agree that moving someone stuff off of a chair, no matter how frustrating seeing it empty may be, is not a good idea. :wink3: I think the main thrust of this thread is that there are points on each side to reserving chairs and there is no "right" answer except that everyone operate with consideration for others. If you're not going to use your chair, don't "reserve" it. If you're going to sleep late you get what you can. You choice on which way you go. Jamie
This wiil be our 5th time going to Temptation and this is the only thing i dislike about it but you learn to deal with it.We get down between 6 and 7 and already there are at least 10 to 15 chairs with towels or books on them.We been lucky to always getting a nice spot at the pool.At the MGM in Vegas they have someone walking around picking up towels if they are left on a chair for an hour or more.I like this but dont bet on this happening at Temptation
what can you put on loungers to reserve them and not have it get swiped? Any personal belongings someone could take or you put towels on a lounger and someone takes those, then you have to pay a fine to the hotel, just wondering what people reserve loungers with, or maybe this is not a problem, just wondering because if I need to reserve a lounger by 7 am I can, I just don't want to have to worry about something being stolen.
Towels are pretty safe, but I have seen shoes, books, beach bags, and some tee-shirts. We have been to TTR, always stake out our chairs early, and have never lost any towels early. We have lost a towel while we were at lunch when some gal gave us a rough time for being gone for lunch. Her stuff just about ended up in one of the jacussys after that.
we just got back and on what good days we had the beds were well taken up by 8.30 and there was some people that left there towels on there for most of the day and never turned up not sure how you solve the problem,we went to a hotel in europe last year and if your towels was left for more than two hours the staff would remeve them not sure it if could work at TTR thou
towels, suntan lotion, water bottles, or beach bag..............we have had our towels stolen............usually they are newbies just coming in the resort who can't get a towel after 5:00 cause the towel hut is closed. Bitch to chinos and he dealt with it without us having to pay for the towels.
