we have dropped a combined 50 lbs since Christmas. Could always lose more but only have a few more weeks to do it. Just a combination of diet and exercise. Plus seeing a tiny bikini helps motivate

All this talk had me add ab ripper x to tonight's Kempo workout. Nothing like punching and kicking the air 2000 times to get you ready for a vacation.

Once I did weight watchers and ran 3-5 miles a day. Went from 265 to 195 and looked horrible. Then tried p90x after going back to 235. Went down to 220 and am now just replacing fat with muscle maintaining 220. Good combo of weights and cardio for someone big like me.

High intensity interval training is best method for loosing fat and keeping muscle on. Just compare a sprinters body to a long distance runners body. Throw in heavy weight training and a strict diet and your all set.

I agree. HIIT, lift heavy and lots of protein. I eat a minimum of 1 gm of protein per pound of body weight per day.

We started a low carb regime back in January and started going to the gym on a more regular basis (3 to 4 days per week) mainly to do weight lifting, pretty much zero cardio to this point. We have lost 5 lbs combined between the 2 of us in 2 months. For us is not about losing weight but getting toned, building muscle and try to get that waist line thinner :)

Heavy weight training added in is the key. Long, low intensity cardio sessions are the devil lol Higher intensity, shorter amount of time all the way. EPOC doesn't ever get talked about anymore but that was the beginning of the "movement" :)

That's what we have been told by many friends that are personal trainers. Go with very heavy weights (6 to 8 reps max) and it will help burn fat without losing muscle. Of course we keep the protein intake high as well. We haven't bulked up, but we are aware that muscles are not built in days, it takes months to see results, plus we are not looking for a lot of mass anyways.

I got to admit we are not really kicking it into high gear yet (we might do it for the summer, since there is not enough time from now till TTR), plus we cheat lot by drinking beers on a regular basis... What can we do, we got to train our liver for TTR too.. LOL.. :ernaehrung015:

    Gasp!! Beers! You're fired! Lol
I'm kind of worried about the alcohol part on the trip. I've tried to reintroduce some back in on occasion and I feel CRAPPY the next day, even with only 3 drinks! Hoping that my "finally away from the kids" high will make up for lack/minimization of alcohol consumption.
