I was looking into trying some different weight-loss remedies last trip to TTR as well. I asked my doctor when I went for my annual physical and in her words "there is no magic bean or everyone would be taking them!"
I find this to be true, good old exercise, eating right and cutting out the sugars is the only way to truly keep the weight off and do it in a healthy fashion.

P.s. I guess my only consolation for not being able to join you April Addicts this year as I can still eat as many cheeseburgers and pizza as I want! LOL

Man, my boob surgery has destroyed my progress :( Had abs the morning of surgery. Bummed won't be able to workout enough to get them back by the trip. Oh well! I guess there is next time!

My trip is in 4 weeks lol Not much help for pre-trip. And there were mild complications during my surgery so I can't do anything that will use weight on my upper body at all. Sucks since ALL my ab exercises involve putting weight on my upper body, twisting with a ball, anchoring on a decline bench, etc. etc. :( WAH WAH! Pity party over!

So question for all the trainers / experts.

Explain to me the science behind high burst interval training vs same speed longer duration.

I.e. why, or do I really burn more calories, if I run on the treadmill for bursts at 9-10 mph then walking vs running steady at 8 mph for 3-5 miles.

Thanks. I work hard. In the process of doing my nightly 5 miles but I frequently see people come into the gym and run really fast for a minute, then break, then really fast for another minute and so on and depart way before I am done my 5 miles. Want to be sure I am not only working hard but smart.
