Another way to phrase this is to say that many Americans feel strongly about their rights to be able to defend themselves from some asshole coming in and shooting everyone. (since the assholes already have guns, especially in the US)

For some reason, as much as I want to I just can't let this one go. My original point was a joke comparison which you took way too personally. After that I posted the wording of the 2nd amendment to make a point which you have yet to notice. Here's what you don't get... Unless you are part of an "organized militia" you really don't have the right to own a gun. There is no way you can tell me that it reads any other way. Now you're saying that we just don't get it. What I get is this... your lack of gun control is effecting not only your safety and security in the US but it's spilling over into my country. The majority of the guns that are found on criminals originate in the US No my safety and security is being put in danger by your lack to control guns. Do I respect the right to bear arms... yes I do... do I think an assault rifle should be sold to a private person... no way.
