waited 45 minutes for our bags the rest was a breeze down the escalator through the line pressed the button got a green also the form you hand over and on the bus in about 15 minutes, around 1 hour from plane to bus no problem for us except the 14 hours on the plane due to delays and detours as we had to fly from glasgow down over manchester over the bay of biscay to south of portugal then across via st johns island down by new york across florida and hey ho we were were there.
Well, we arrived on Saturday May 29th. The wait in immigration was less than 10 minutes, there must have been 8 lines open! Literally breezed through that and customs and were out of the airport in less than 20 minutes.
Can it get any faster? Family of four, with checked luggage, landed, deplaned, cleared passport control, claimed luggage, cleared customs, met their transportation, traveled into town, and were in the apt- all in just a few minutes over one hour from touchdown, yesterday afternoon.
Had friends arrive Wed on Jet Blue from JFK. Jet Blue uses Terminal 2. Flight left on time, arrived 20 minutes early and they were out the door in 30 minutes. I was picking them up for lunch and thought of this thread while waiting in the Meeting Point for them.
Was back to Cancun end of May. We got through in 20 minutes. Terminal 2. Friends arrived the next day 3 1/2 hours Terminal 3. They said the lines were incredible. The saddest part there was only 4 agents working the booths with that amount of arrrivals.
I really think it all depends on the day. ALOT of arrivals on the weekends and usually before 3pm, so that makes a heck of a difference. But I am making an assumption as ppl are not posing the day or time of day to make any comparisons.
We landed in cancun saturday may 1st @ 4:40 and it was standing room only. we made it out the back door @ 9:10 and most of our time was spent waiting in line.:sauer005:
That day, immigration was changing to new forms, and getting acquainted with how to handle them: worst possible day to hit here, but that problem's behind us. There are still bottlenecks, on occasion, but that had to be the worst. How could you have known...?
